Re: Pavilions Simi Valley rebranded as Vons

Just got my weekly grocery ads and discovered that the Monrovia Pavilions has been "Vonsed" as well. This comes a few years after the nearby Arcadia Pavilions got the same treatment. I think Monrovia was one of the earliest Pavilions (built from the ground up.) Not sure when it came about, but it wa...

Re: Wal Mart Closing 02/06 Sacramento, CA El Camino Ave.

I wonder if this will be the final death knell for the old Country Club Centre, which used to be a regular mall with Montgomery Ward and Rhodes/Liberty House as its two anchors. And Country Club Plaza, across the street, can't be doing that well if the Macy's (which was a much larger store than the ...

Re: North Pasadena Vons May Close

So that will be Stater Bros. westernmost store (at least in the San Gabriel Valley), right? Currently they only go as far as the Azusa/Glendora border.

I always wondered why there was no traditional Whole Foods in that area, as Claremont is a fairly upscale college town, so maybe this will fill that gap. They have ...

Re: Target to close 11 stores before year end

I do know that the Target CVS pharmacies still have two sets of registers; one for the main store and one for the pharmacy. They do not cross merchandise between the two.
So someone who wants to purchase both prescription and non-prescription or HBA items has to do it in two separate transactions?

CVS Wants to Buy Aetna

CVS in talks to buy Aetna. I guess they have to grow to compete with Walgreen's and there are no more acquisitions in the pharmacy arena.

Re: Ralphs Discontinuing Traditional Printed Ads

Four Ralphs stores that were close to me (Duarte, Glendora, two in Arcadia) have been closed for a while, but I still get a Ralphs ad every week in the mail. Aldi, however, discontinued their weekly mailers to my area a few months after they opened. Maybe they'll resume once their Monrovia store ope...
