Re: Albersons Closing 19 more stores
Here is the list: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505123_162-57507006/albertsons-save-a-lot-and-acme-store-closing-list/ The Corvallis store is an older location, in an older strip mall, with an arched roof. It hadn't received the new SuperValu remodel. It was definitely showing its age, particularly on...

They have been running going out of business sale ads in The Oregonian.
There is a Fred Meyer right across the street from that Kmart.

Re: Bon Ton opening Herbergers in Chubbuck, ID
Yes. I don't remember specific dates, but the former Dillards would have gone from ZCMI to someone else (I'm almost certain Meier & Frank) to Dillards, which didn't last long. The mall in Idaho Falls started out wtih basically the same anchors (JC Penney, The Bon and ZCMI), but still has the Dil...

That is an interesting development. The shuttered Dillards was formerly ZCMI. The shuttered Macy's was formerly The Bon Marche.

Re: Nash Finch Buys Omaha's No Frills Stores
I have been in a No Frills store in Omaha that is a former blue-grey Albertsons. The Albertsons interior had basically been painted over but was mostly still intact.

Re: Lifestyle-on-the-Cheap
What doesn't make sense is this: it looks like the store got new flooring, including the faux-wood in the produce area, and new lighting. Replacing the lighting and the flooring has to be much more expensive than the wall signage and the fixtures above the produce. Why would they skimp on the cheape...

Re: WinCo Pocatello ID
It was definitely Safeway. We shopped there when I was very young. There was a new-ish Smith's (built probably in the late 1980s or early 1990s) a mile or so away on Yellowstone Avenue. Kroger closed it when a new Fred Meyer opened across the street. I believe that Dollar Tree now occupies part of t...

Re: Albertsons Exiting Utah
I was in the Blackfoot, Idaho, Ridley's store today. Ridley's bought the Blackfoot store from Albertsons / SuperValu about a year ago. Ridley's hadn't done anything at all to the interior except paste "Ridley's Blackfoot" logos anywhere there used to be an Albertsons logo. The store had be...

I haven't noticed Flavorite here in Jackson, Wyoming, but there are many Shoppers Value products around the store. I'll keep watching though ...

Re: Cheyenne SWY: Pioneer Ave
Albertsons LLC sold the Wyoming Albertsons stores to SuperValu. That didn't include the Rock Springs and Jackson Albertsons stores, which were already owned by SuperValu.
