Re: Albertsons Exiting Utah
That SuperValu was willing to sell the Utah market, where Albertsons has a long history, shows that nothing is sacred. Pocatello only has one Albertsons now. The Blackfoot store has been sold. The Burley store is in sorry shape. There is certainly no Albertsons stranglehold on southern Idaho outside...

Re: Albertsons Exiting Utah
Is anyone just a little surprised that Safeway didn't end up with these stores? It would fill a major geographic gap for Safeway, which has stores across most of the West except in Idaho and Utah. Granted, Safeway divested Utah in the 1980s, but that was a different time. The grocery market in Utah ...

Re: Cheyenne SWY: Pioneer Ave
I was in all three Cheyenne Safeways in July 2008. It's an interesting group of stores. The downtown store is a blast from the past, with the old circle S on the outside. I attached a few pictures below. I managed to snap them with a cameraphone without getting thrown into Safeway jail. The Cole Sho...

Re: Jackson, Wyoming Smith's
Storewanderer, I agree with you -- I don't like seeing the tiles removed either. That store now seems much darker than it used to -- it makes it seem closer to a warehouse. If they were taking out 25-year-old nasty floor tiles, I would probably be OK with that. But these tiles were only seven or eig...

Re: Jackson, Wyoming, Albertsons
Yes, the former Safeway / Albertsons is alive and well. It's been divided into three spots: Hoback Sports, Staples and Dollar Tree. As I recall, that store had the blue-grey Albertsons interior. If you walk to the back of it, you'll see that it's been added onto a couple of times, almost certainly a...

Jackson, Wyoming, Albertsons
The Jackson, Wyoming, Albertsons just got a thorough remodel. The store is about eight years old, replacing a smaller store that was previously a Safeway and Farmer Jack. The store had only received a major reset since it was opened, when a larger natural/organic section was added a couple of years ...

Jackson, Wyoming Smith's
The Jackson, Wyoming, Smith's just got a lite remodel where they ripped out all of the floor tiles, moved the Floral section into the one-hour photo area (which was replaced with digital photo kiosks), and got some new equipment. This store is only seven or eight years old -- I thought it was really...
