I don't like how they mandate that the customer has to pay for bags under these programs.

Re: CVS and cutting store hours
It seems like there was a period of time where Rite Aid had cut hours back in a similar way at some stores about 10-15 years ago, but eventually restored them. As for CVS....this could also work to send customers to their pharmacies inside Target locations, unless those pharmacies are also cutting h...

Re: The Decline of Carl's Jr,
Carl's Jr. is one of those chains that has just never stood out to me. I have had issues with ordering food specific ways, food not cooked properly, and prices that seem too high to me. Within the past year, a brand-new Carl's Jr. opened by me, but the location is terrible. The drive-thru setup tend...

Re: Macy’s 2020
Meanwhile, Macy's will have closed more stores in Idaho than it operates in Idaho. Macy's will be down to stores in Boise, Idaho Falls and Coeur d'Alene after closing stores in Lewiston, Nampa, Downtown Boise, Twin Falls and Pocatello. It appears the purchase of Meier and Frank was a real turkey fo...

Re: Oregon Senate Passes Thin Plastic Bag Ban
WinCo does not have any self serve bags in CA Stores. You tell the cashier how many bags you want and they charge you for the bags and throw them down the belt with the rest of your groceries. At self checkout you have to ask for bags as well. This is the set up I've seen at all CA WinCos I've visi...

Re: Oregon Senate Passes Thin Plastic Bag Ban
I was talking to a friend that lives in Portland yesterday, and he mentioned that the bag ban is causing some frustration. He mentioned that some stores are offering the bags at every purchase mentioning the 5 cent charge, while others are not even offering to bag your purchase and automatically set...

Re: Macy’s 2020
A few on that list are removals from more rural Bon - Marche markets. Northern Idaho will now have only one Macy*s, in Coeur d'Alene, adjacent to the Spokane, Wash. market with its two larger stores. Northside Center in Helena - was that a relocation after the decay of Capital Hill Mall? It's surpr...

Re: Macy’s 2020
A few Macy's closures are surfacing. However, depending on which article you read, some are including closures from last year and the exact number of new closure announcements is not clear. There has been one new announcement in Washington state, in Walla Walla (presumably a former Bon Marche, also ...

Re: Oregon Senate Passes Thin Plastic Bag Ban
Something that I wonder about is how many people living on the border of Oregon and Washington & Idaho (and perhaps Nevada although SE Oregon is sparsely populated) are crossing the border to avoid bag fees and/or still obtain plastic bags (which some people re-use for garbage bags among other t...

Re: Macy’s 2020
In the NW, I can see stores like The Commons in Federal Way closing and the mall becoming a big box Center. Not sure if all the rural stores would go away as some are quite spaced apart. But I could also see Cascade Mall in Burlington closing. Possibly South Hill Mall in Puyallup. Maybe for Kitsap ...
