Re: New Kmart opens in part of Sears space

I'm seeing rumors posted that the entire chain (both Sears and Kmart) will have a final liquidation in January 2019. With all of the activity surrounding the company this year, I'm not about to completely discount that rumor. This does seem like something that should've been done 10 years ago when ...

Re: Cash & Carry is changing its name

Decided to stop in and check the local location out. Meh. I didn't think prices were all that great on a lot of items. Probably won't go back.

New Kmart opens in part of Sears space

Re: West Covina Albertsons closed

“We depend on this market,” said Debra Fields. “There are lots of seniors that shop there as well as other people that this market is very convenient for them.” Um... unlike a lot of these closures where another alternative tends to be farther away / a long transit ride away, there is a Walmart sup...

Re: Target using lowercase "target" on full-scale stores

I am a little surprised that Target has done so little over the years to update their logo to be honest. And even more surprised at some of the inconsistencies starting to surface. There is the old red logo/letters, (with some older versions using a red and white bullseye signage, more common is red...

Walmart...you get what you pay for. Safeway...proves that the experience is not worth the high prices and gimmicks.

Re: Kroger closing all Triangle stores (14 total), at least 8 being "sold" to Harris Teeter

Not exactly a well-written article. Not if Kroger owns Harris-Teeter...it's more of a banner changeover really.

For example, It would be like if QFC announced they were closing and selling stores to Fred Meyer.

Re: Cash & Carry is changing its name

Is this what used to be called United Grocers? It looks like they are open to the public, but it seems that at one point they used to be (under United Grocers) very strict about selling wholesale only to businesses.

Their locations tend to be off the beaten path, often in industrial areas.

Coca-Cola Freestyle machines on the way out?

Today I stopped at a brand new Arby's in Napavine, WA for lunch, and noticed that the Coke products were in a traditional fountain machine instead of the Freestyle machine. The one thing worth noting is that the fountain dispenser has all of the flavor dispensers lit up with white LEDs, something I ...
