Re: West Chester Kroger Marketplace opens

Quite large for a Kroger Marketplace, practically Fred Meyer sized. https://www.journal-news.com/news/new-kroger-west-chester-take-our-tour-the-huge-store-and-find-out-what-events-are-happening-celebrate/TtuZHKoZRh0xcfTEz2dSKJ/ 133,000 square feet. The last Fred Meyer to open in the Portland area (...

It seems that the start to accepting CC with chip here started when Taco Bell added the ordering kiosks, if not just before.
That sounds right. The kiosks would have likely included a full POS hardware upgrade

Re: Taco Bell not taking card chips?

It seems to be a very slow rollout with Taco Bell. Some locations are taking chip. Pretty much this. Taco Bell is very lenient in what they let their franchisees get away with sometimes, and the POS update for chip cards is one of them. At the same time, they have a TON of technology rollouts happe...

Emails I get through the forum...

Screen Shot 2019-01-16 at 5.03.42 PM.png Dear Mary, I hope you're well. I hope after you sent your email you noticed the announcement post that says our community is not associated with any retail company, and that I really can't do anything to persuade Albertson's Companies (who are the actual own...

Re: Cisco Phones at Safeway Stores

Thank you for your responses. My real question is the fact that Safeway didn’t take advantage of the CAT 5 at each register and they instead installed Cortelco analog old school telephones at each checkouts using the old phone wiring. I assume they pulled the amphenol cable off the Nortel box and p...

I really hope everyone is spending time with friends and having fun instead of reading my little board, so I’ll just lock up for the night. Have a happy new year!

Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2018

i think the hometown stores need to be rebranded next year. it would be best to steer clear from the sears name after it liquidates. Depending on who ends up with the Sears brand, they may not have a choice either way, While they're independently owned, they do still have to license the name from S...

Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2018

It looks like the end is nearer than we thought: Sears may be down to its last 24 hours. Iconic retailer likely liquidates if no bid comes in tomorrow. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/12/27/sears-may-need-to-liquidate-if-no-bid-comes-in-by-tomorrow.html?fbclid=IwAR3Rm1zo2ak2YPHUdbHEdLiXB0cUZ8c8Xoc75lFWxxY...
