Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2018

I’m pretty sure a lot of the stores closing are the locations with the most valuable real estate. For example, Two near me that are closing: South Coast Plaza and Los Cerritos Center are two very high-traffic malls (they already closed another high traffic location in Brea a while back). The locatio...

Re: Tariffs

This is a pretty good explanation. Economists note the tariffs would be on the wholesale price (this article is from last year, and speaks of the original proposed 45% tariff, but the scale of economy is basically the same). https://www.palmbeachpost.com/business/trump-china-how-much-would-trump-tar...

That said, I do like their pie.
Shari's, Coco's, etc all seem to have that in common... completely average diner food, but their real gems are the baked goods.

Re: Shari's takes over Cocos and Carrows

Coco's has two locations near me. One is right across the street from Disneyland and seems to be constantly busy (gee, I wonder why? $$$) The second location is a mile and a half away or so, but is located in a googie-style former Big Boy and has been the unfortunate subject of closure talks (...

Re: Amazon Go

I'm going to move this to the non-region section since these are technically not online stores (and now has 3 locations in Seattle and one in Chicago).

I'm in the Seattle area the next 7 days and I'm interested to see the concept in person.

Re: Safeway remodel Tahoe City, CA 09/2018

How do I rotate photos? When you click the photo large it opens in the proper orientation. Are you uploading from Windows, or macOS, or something else? I see you took the photos with a Samsung Galaxy S5, I've had issues in the past with Windows not translating image rotation data correctly sometime...

Re: Safeway remodel Tahoe City, CA 09/2018

How do I rotate photos? When you click the photo large it opens in the proper orientation. Not sure, might be a problem with the theme. I'll check if there's an updated version Edit: I updated the theme, nothing. I updated the board software (it should at least fix the uploading issues) and no fix ...

Re: Kroger to phase out plastic bags at all stores

Last time I checked, Kroger doesn't even have handles on their bags. Funny it's Kroger pulling this and not Albertsons, as Kroger has more stores in rural/conservative areas. Chain-wide is a horrible idea, they're going to get massacred by Publix in the East Coast. If you’re talking about paper, th...
