The CVS in downtown Fresno on Fulton street is slated to close next month. Originally opened as a Longs in 1973 and all prescriptions will be moved to the First/Shields location.

Problem is that the drug store industry is shifting away from brick & mortar at this point. I feel like rite aid will eventually get bought by private equity or possibly consolidate with albertsons and close any rite aid that is near an albertsons or safeway store and maybe use the rite aid and ...

i wonder if raley's will retire the loyalty card program at bashas' when they take over operations. that could be step one to improve foot traffic in their stores.

i haven't seen the same types of price increases at save mart or smart & final. safeway may find themselves having to retreat on this after the holidays.

double whammy for stores with panic buying and holiday shopping going on. grocery stores might get completely wiped out right before thanksgiving at this rate.

i'm wondering how many shopping malls will be closed post covid for real estate or redevelopment in the next few years. manchester center's food court in fresno is bare and there are talks about demolishing the indoor mall.
