Re: Walmart observations

Neighborhood Markets was Walmart's response to "big box" resistance. Without proper strategic locations, they were going to canvas the country with these fill in stores. In 5 states I have never been pleased with these poorly run and unpleasant stores. I often did competitive checks and walked away ...

Re: Instacart Delivers 3 Year Old Expired Pizza from Ralphs

https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2020-11-24/coronavirus-instacart-ralphs-three-year-old-pizza So this was a Celeste brand pizza. This brand is not DSD and has not been DSD anytime in recent years (if ever). This is very bad. I wouldn't expect Instacart to check dates per se as a rule, but it ...

Re: Instacart Delivers 3 Year Old Expired Pizza from Ralphs

I am not a subscriber to L.A Times.

Does the article mention which store the pizza came from?

Re: Capacity Limits... in the winter

The telehealth issue is a necessary evil right now but.................. You are spot on with your observations and I would go further. Just about every business is using this Covid thing as an excuse to categorically and quantifiably deliver less. Even their attitudes have gone sour. I suspect many...

Same here!

Was with WM for a long time and then Chase arrived!

It was a total nightmare on every level (worse than my previous experiences with BoA).

Very high credit score here and I was treated like garbage.

Capital One is just as bad!

Re: JC Penney Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection

This sounds like a few years ago when Sears was aggressively pushing the Shop Your Way program. And that's worked out very well for them hasn't it  I totally depend on caller ID for my home phone (guess I'm one of the few people left with a landline and my cell is a flip phone so that qualifi...

Re: JC Penney Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection

I also was asked to provide a phone number at JCPenney today. I also heard many complaints about rewards coupons not working or that the discounted price requires the customer to go home and do an online rebate. There were 2 cashiers for the entire store and a very long single checkout line that mu...

Re: JC Penney Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection

I actually made a purchase in a JCP Store today. Rural location, so not many people. Only one person in line where I paid. While waiting, I observed the cashier who aggressively asked the person who paid ahead of me for a Rewards Phone number then got them to sign up for it. When it was finally my ...

Re: Coronavirus Fears and Empty Supermarkets

I have heard from friends who work for Walmart that Walmart in recent weeks has started laying off employees. Walmart is going into full on cost cutting mode. They hired tons of employees when the pandemic started. Now the bean counters at Walmart's corporate office are freaking out over the excess...

Re: Albertsons buys Kings

John Catsimatidis has a reputation as an all around "piece of work"---among other things, a rather vulgar would-be socialite and a peripheral figure in Trump's orbit, a lot of ego and a difficult quirky boss. No one would want the chain unless he was completely out of the picture, but finding someo...
