Supermarket Stakeout is back (and at Bashas)
I guess the new ownership was still happy to have the TV production in their parking lots. Now that the show is no longer at 'Marketplace' stores, it appears they've canceled the "you never know what you might get" element when sometimes folks would end up buying a cart with things like bi...

Re: Nordstrom going to Private Equity?
I know Crossroads in Bellevue had a Nordstrom Place Two store for a while, but I don't think it lasted long. After that store closed it got subdivided into smaller stores. The Hallmark store moved into part of the space along with Party City, a Dress Barn that's now gone and Hand and Stone massage....

Re: Walmart introduces new private label brand
I loved the Sam's Choice products and yes, now they seem to only be on a few stray bread items (why?), frozen pizza, and chocolate. Much like the Reserve version of the Signature items at Albertsons Co's. (interesting... same private label manufacturer? LOL) This new brand would appeal to someone li...

Sonic food review
Ordered from the value (under $4) menu + my drink of choice. Still $10? Ah inflation. Thoughts - 1) Forgot catsup for my tots despite me specifically asking for it when giving my speaker order. 2) Big "no contactless/no Apple Pay" signs at my location on each order stall 3) Tots well made,...

Re: Downtown Scottsdale Fry's to become a Whole Foods
Looks like it got the pretty Ralph's wall decor from around 15 years ago but at the time they did nothing to change/improve lighting or flooring. https://s3-media0.fl.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/wM6RT5GY_pNeEmzmrgRhKQ/o.jpg So, it's probably a cost/benefit analysis and if WFM was interested, I assume that me...

Re: Nordstrom going to Private Equity?
The reality is that their store real estate strategy changes after opening stores in the Northwest and California. Their original plan was to go into any mall that could support them. When they decided to go national, they changed their strategy to open only one or two large stores per market. That...

Re: Barnes and Noble new stores
That is a point. The latest store in the Portland, Ore. trade area is at Cascade Station, a large box retail plaza near the airport and "anchored" by the only IKEA for hours/miles. It does not have a cafe.
