Re: Albertsons/Safeway 2018: Openings and Closings
I don't know if store closings are complete in Pueblo CO, but the notable thing is that the remaining Albertsons is nearing completion of its remodeling, and it will stay Albertsons. The new wall decor inside incorporates the company logo in the background. This leaves only two Albertsons stores in ...

Re: Albertsons/Safeway 2018: Openings and Closings
Pueblo, CO Albertsons closing (former Grocery Warehouse with hispanic themed interior, probably was a Skaggs Albertsons in its day but the whole thing is occupied by Albertsons now). There is an old dumpy Safeway across the road (cardboard Lifestyle interior). I'm surprised they are keeping the dum...

Re: Signature Select brand
I've noticed this brand replacing Signature Kitchens on canned vegetables at Safeway in Colorado. The UPC on the Signature Select brand is different by a few digits from the UPC on the old Signature Kitchens brand.

Re: Integration of Albertsons and Safeway
The ad is too wordy. It is very confusing. It looks like a Safeway ad. Last year, the Safeway ad in Denver looked like an Albertsons ad. Why so many changes? Why isn't there a consistent go to market strategy? In Colorado they should have taken this opportunity to stop requiring the club card for s...

Re: Integration of Albertsons and Safeway
For the first time, today's Wednesday newspaper ads for both chains are combined into a single four-page ad. For about the past 2-3 months, the ads have been virtually identical but separate. Now, Albertsons is advertising that the Just for U promotions can be used at their stores as well, and that ...

Re: Integration of Albertsons and Safeway
Integration of the stores in SE Colorado is essentially complete. The chains run separate, but almost identical ads in our local paper each Wednesday, with similar specials at both stores. Even the typeface for the Albertsons ads has transitioned to the Safeway format. Albertsons now carries Signatu...

How many gas stations does Safeway have? I don't think it is even 300? I am surprise...

Re: Integration of Albertsons and Safeway
Brand integration is nearly complete in our stores, located in the Denver region. Albertsons only has a few SuperValu brands left, with SIgnature having almost completely replaced the Essential Everyday products. Safeway's breads, however, haven't shown up on the shelves in Albertsons. The two store...

Re: Integration of Albertsons and Safeway
My apologies for any repeat observations, since I haven't attempted to filter out anything previously noted. Also, I normally don't do such long posts, but this is a summary of my observations in my area. Also, some background is needed. I live in SE Colorado, in a medium size metro area (population...
