Re: New Albertsons Interior Southern California

Studied this some more and it is absolutely a modern take on the "Jewel" decor from the early to mid 2000s.... I didn't see it at first, but, like you, after looking at the pictures I agree - Jewel Interior updated to a 2024 sensibility. ... The symbols printed on the walls as if they are...

Re: Brookshire Grocery to open 51st Super 1 Foods store

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: California Impact

I went to check these San Diego stores today. First off Liberty Station has received light updates at some point including the rectangular aisle hangers which not all repaint lifestyle received. Lighting has been added to the entire store so it doesn't feel as dark and claustrophobic on the "a...

Re: CA Senate Bill 478- "Junk fees" bill

...They can get really creative. I expect "to go" fees to become more common in restaurants. In reality they should give you a "to go" discount since you aren't using their space/labor.. like other countries... but whatever. Perhaps hotels can start with "extra person"...

Re: Kroger "Boost Member Price"

They keep believing that Amazon and their paid Prime membership is going to put them out of business (with inaccurate comparisons based on total revenue despite the fact that Amazon's food revenue is probably only 5% or less). They see Costco and Sam's taking a larger and larger sh...

Fry's fuel has a location roughly halfway between this store and the one on McDowell and Hayden Rds, FWIW.

Re: Wegmans Cheapening Decor

...What they are great at is merchandising and making a plain space into something great where the product tells the story. Beautifully merchandised produce, ample displays of meat and prepared foods, superb impression of freshness, everything is impactful and intentional. I don't think they spend ...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: California Impact

What do you think of the very interesting Vons at Liberty Public Market? Concerned that could land in the hands of C&S. Not sure they could wrap their heads around the concept. That's a cool store! C&S would destroy it though I believe Vons could do more with it. For those who don't know, t...

The only things that looked more tired than Fry's stores were the Home Chef meals.
