Re: Target to discontinue physical media?
I can concur - Walmart still has a healthy DVD/Blu-Ray selection. Do wish the competition could come up with their own solutions, though, instead of dealing with Walmart or discontinuing home video altogether. I'd be surprised to see those stop, considering vinyl has drastically risen in prominence...

Re: Target to discontinue physical media?
Something I don't get though is how LP sales have risen while CDs have fallen by the wayside. On one recent Target visit, I found it interesting that they appeared to have more LPs in the store than CDs. CDs have far superior sound quality and are more versatile. LPs seem to be more of a retro and ...

Re: Wegmans Woes in North Carolina
They seem to want to go after Harris Teeter. Does make sense since Harris Teeter has built numerous large-format stores, and Wegmans has intertwined heavily with them in places like the Triangle and Northern Virginia. Is it true that the Harris Teeter stores in NC are more upscale with a much great...

Re: Jack in the Box & Del Taco moving to 100% kiosks
I went to Taco Bell and said I had a mobile order. The cashier said, "Oh, God!" She told me that when people do mobile orders, there are so many crazy customizations that can be missed. They end up having to remake the food and end up throwing away tons of food. It really cuts into their ...

Re: Cracker Barrel closes Medford, OR location
I'm guessing that Oregon is not exactly in the demographic of Cracker Barrel? Then again, my last experience with Cracker Barrel in West Virginia (which should be firmly in their demographic) was pretty bad. Got carry out since the hotel was right across the street from the restaurant. Picked it up ...

Re: Stores that never were: Sacramento edition
Speaking of Elk Grove, the southern Walmart was initially planned as a Target. Walmart, however, stuck with the planned Target shell through construction, hence why it looks a lot like one. More on Elk Grove, the other Walmart at Elk Grove Blvd and CA 99 has a Neighborhood Market in the same center...

Re: Crucial times for Shoppers
Does anyone know how the Shoppers units outside the ones closing in southern Maryland are doing? It seems like Shoppers has pared back to areas that are more blue collar as well as ones that don't have a lot of other competition. I have been in a few of the PG County locations in the past couple of ...

Re: In & Out
This is pure speculation but the hyper focus on Easter this year may have to do with conservative upset about the proclamation our current President made for March 31st which is also Easter. With that said, no matter what anyone does, someone is going to be upset in today's environment. I know there...

Re: Stop & Shop closures
We don't have any information on Stop & Shop's profits. The closest we know of is $11.17 billion from twenty years ago, but so much of the industry has changed since then. If Stop & Shop has been losing money it's been covered up by Royal Ahold/Ahold Delhaize and the cracks are showing now....

Re: Best Buy not satisfied with big earnings, more layoffs and closures
TVs are a commodity item at this point. The majority does not buy high end OLED or mini-LED sets. They want the largest screen size for a low price. Bonus if you get an extended warranty like Costco does. Many people buy their phones from the carrier to get the deal of the month - free upgrade, free...
