Re: New Albertsons Interior Southern California
Oddly, the new ACME in East Norriton doesn't have that decor. It's been a minute since I've been in that location (I visited a few days after it opened), but the store pretty much reused all the left-behind ShopRite decor except for a few touches here and there. I think they are waiting to see how ...

Re: Wegmans Cheapening Decor
Some of the change has probably come from Wegmans needing to adapt to get into the higher density developments like Reston and Tysons Corner that have opened in the past couple of years. Also, I have to wonder how much cost is a factor too. Construction costs and labor. Although the handmade signs a...

Re: Walmart to close Health Care Clinics
Well, they are spending money creating another food brand  https://corporate.walmart.com/news/2024/04/30/walmart-launches-bettergoods-a-new-private-brand-making-elevated-culinary-experiences-accessible-for-all Looks like a rip of Good And Gather. I wonder if Sam's Choice brand is on its way o...

Re: Walmart to close Health Care Clinics
There is something about going to Walmart for health care that just doesn't line up for me. People think of Walmart for cheap stuff (although not so much since all the price increases), marginal store experience and so-so quality. That's not something that people would equate to being able to provid...

Re: Stop & Shop closures
The Greatland program seemed very short lived---they replaced some old Richways with these stores in Atlanta and none became Super Targets. I don't think I've ever seen a Super Target in the Northeast; they've built quite a few regular Targets in the DC area, esp. 10-15 years ago but I can't rememb...

Re: Best Buy to Discontinue Physical Media
The main thing is that physical media has become a small niche item and no large national retailer is going to sell a lot of it. There always will be people who want to own rather than rent and collectors who like the "hunt" but they are not going to build volume for a Walmart or Target. ...

Re: Target to discontinue physical media?
I can concur - Walmart still has a healthy DVD/Blu-Ray selection. Do wish the competition could come up with their own solutions, though, instead of dealing with Walmart or discontinuing home video altogether. I'd be surprised to see those stop, considering vinyl has drastically risen in prominence...

Re: Target to discontinue physical media?
Something I don't get though is how LP sales have risen while CDs have fallen by the wayside. On one recent Target visit, I found it interesting that they appeared to have more LPs in the store than CDs. CDs have far superior sound quality and are more versatile. LPs seem to be more of a retro and ...

Re: Wegmans Woes in North Carolina
They seem to want to go after Harris Teeter. Does make sense since Harris Teeter has built numerous large-format stores, and Wegmans has intertwined heavily with them in places like the Triangle and Northern Virginia. Is it true that the Harris Teeter stores in NC are more upscale with a much great...

Re: Jack in the Box & Del Taco moving to 100% kiosks
I went to Taco Bell and said I had a mobile order. The cashier said, "Oh, God!" She told me that when people do mobile orders, there are so many crazy customizations that can be missed. They end up having to remake the food and end up throwing away tons of food. It really cuts into their ...
