Re: Walmart Vs. Target Operations
Walmart is more of a "working class" type of store and because of this, appeals to a broader range of customers. Adding groceries is a part of that. Target has always been more concerned about appearing more upscale and finding designer names to slap on products (sometimes identical to wh...

Re: Rite Aid Store Closings
Supposedly there were more corporate layoffs today. It seems like we are inching closer to the point of no return. What was corporate even doing? No merchandise. Promotions posted in front of empty shelves. Loyalty program that only partially works. Website is useless when so many items are out of ...

Re: Portland Fred Meyer employees go on strike
I find it interesting that Fred Meyer is offering some decent raises in exchange for outsourcing produce work, which I assume means everything comes prepackaged. The union has rejected it but trend is there. They don't do much in-store baking. much of the meat now appears to be prepackaged. I'm gues...

Re: Cocos and carrows
I have looked on the web to see if others are for sale and the the only one I found is Redlands but it’s no longer available, and Sun city and laguna hills were never put up for sale but closed. I like to use Loopnet but you must recognize many offerings are not publicly announced. I've personally ...

Re: Chick-fil-a New Elevated Restaurant
In the right location, this is a smart move. Probably works well on smaller sites.

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact
Today's news is that Kroger is evidently so confident that this merger is a done deal that they already took out over $10B in new bond debt to pay for the acquisition. Yes, they claim they're going to save you, the customer, money yet they're putting themselves further into debt which of course wil...

Re: 25 KFC Locations Abruptly Close
Who ever runs the European division should run the USA division. KFCs in Europe are always busy and have a completely different menu that's more like Chick-fil-a than the bucket of fried grease bones they try to sell here.

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact
Interesting note of the day: after the FTC was making a lot of noise about no more airline mergers in the same discussion as the Kroger-Albertsons merger, they quietly rubber stamp approved the Alaska Airlines-Hawaiian Air merger today. Sounds like zero concessions even though there are overlapping...

Re: Rite Aid Store Closings
Stores are now being told October is when they will have the front ends restocked... Where is the credibility? They were being told August for the past few months. I assumed August would mean they got the money from Walgreens for MI/OH so they could use that to buy inventory. Also how do they keep ...
