I've noticed the older shopping center Walmarts were almost always carved into a Tractor Supply and some other tenant, at least around here.
This OSH looks nice, hopefully someone can move in without much work needed.

Arby's location looks run down already
My local Arby's had a fairly major remodel in 2017. The exterior metal parapet roof was removed, and the dining area and restrooms were totally remodeled. The building had not had as major of a remodel since it was built in 1984. Yet, while I enjoy eating there, I've noticed the condition of the bui...

Publix adding liquor store next to existing store
So my local Publix which dated back to 1962, was demolished and rebuilt in 2016. In doing so, they also demolished a vacant storefront to the left of the building and expanded into it. To the right of the building, was Bank of America, which was a corner storefront. That bank closed down last year. ...

Re: Walmart to open a maximum of 10 new stores in FY2020
The Walmart here opened another arena of self checkouts after the remodel. I also noticed they added two more regular checkouts at the garden center. I'm not sure why they did that as typically there is only one line open on that end of the store. The most I've seen is two. Usually the one that's op...

Re: Coca-Cola Freestyle machines on the way out?
The newly rebuilt McDonald's here just has the regular machines as well. That machine looks better than the typical Freestyle ones since it has two dispensers, plus it has an ice machine on top. For establishments with more traffic, the single dispenser design just doesn't make sense. Especially sin...

Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2018
I'm quite surprised the store in Lakeland FL would close. That's a central store to many communities in that area. And from looking at photos recently, it seemed the departments were well stocked and had much more selection than my local store. I would have expected the one here to close first. But ...

Re: Wendy's
One thing I've noticed with the Wendy's location here is that the first drive through window is closed when I go. It's a big poster on it, so I suspect that is always the case. So you pay at the pick up window, which does slow service down. Although, the older second location only had one window if ...

How often does a supermarket need to remodel?
What do you think? It seems in the last 20 years or so remodels have been more often, but it's more or less just changing the decor package and paint. I'm not seeing as much in the way of infrastructure remodels such as refrigeration replacements or departments moving around. Publix seems to be rebu...

Re: Wal Mart Cashier "Seating Lawsuit"
Usually when I see the cashier seated at a full service store, they put the plastic bag rack nearby so they don't need to move far to bag items. Not many people request paper so it works. I don't know of any stores that have a conveyor belt between the scanning and bagging part of the counter.
