Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2018
I don't think Walmart would be interested in Sears. I could see Amazon possibly using it to expand into appliances, repair services or auto repair. Plus they already sell some Sears items. On the other hand, I don't think they would be interested in operating brick and mortar stores, it kind of goes...

Another tiny center is under construction here
I noticed in the last few months a tiny strip mall under construction here. It's in front of a Lowes and next to a Wendy's. I didn't even realize there were outparcels there. I can't tell what it's supposed to be as there are no signs. There doesn't appear to be any way to access it aside from the L...

Dead but not dead shopping center? (Towne Square - Sebring, FL)
There's a shopping center here that I can't figure out what they're planning to do with. It started out in the early 70s as a large center, with a Kmart and Winn-Dixie as anchors. In 1992 the Kmart moved to the new mall. The Winn-Dixie conincided with an 80s one across town and eventually closed in ...

Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2018
The Kmart here probably could have made a nice smaller Walmart, as it was one of the relatively newer ones. But we already have a Supercenter a few miles away. I'm not sure who will fill the vacancy of the Kmart, Farm and Fleet was discussed but I'm not sure they even have stores around here. When t...

Re: Wal Mart Cashier "Seating Lawsuit"
The cashiers at Aldi are all seated here, I don't remember if they are at Sav A Lot.
I haven't seen any seated cashiers at Walmart, but I have seen a few at Publix.

Re: Sears Home & Life
Does Sears Hometown stores sell vacuum cleaners or electronics too? I've never been to one but they sound kind of like the old Sears we had before the large one at the mall. It sold lawn and garden equipment, appliances, tools, electronics, vacuums and sewing machines. I'd like to Sears continue in ...

Re: CVS and volume
I see, I've always preferred Walgreens myself. I do think it was a good and bold move when CVS stopped selling cigarettes, and I'm surprised Walgreens didn't follow suit, but I guess they had their reasons. Eckerds brings fond memories to my mind but Walgreens is definitely me preferred store even w...

Re: Issues at Subway
There are three Subways in my town, I've eaten at two locations. Well, actually one of the two has moved twice since then due to strip mall demolition and remodels. The one I typically go to seems pretty well managed. It's an 80s location and shows the age but is clean and updated some. I stop for l...

Re: Wendy's
Out of all the fast food places, I never tried breakfast at Wendy's, well Subway for that matter either. It bemuses me that this location has not been remodeled, because as you say many have been lately. All of the other locations around me have gotten the remodels with new signage, and the wood til...

Re: Grocery chains in your area
Aldi - seems to be doing well after about a decade in business, recently expanded their store maybe a year ago. Winn Dixie has two locations: North - an original location. This store seems relatively average or slightly smaller, no pharmacy. It was remodeled in 2008 so is relatively modern and seems...
