The Pick Up Area Trend

I've been noticing many retailers are starting the pickup area trend. Lowes a while ago put designated parking areas for merchandise pickup and also has a desk right near the front door for this. I stopped at the mall yesterday and noticed even Belk has put up an easel designating one of their outsi...

Re: Americans who love to cook on the decline - how will grocers react?

Ugh, OT, but it sounds like so much retail is suffering from the fact that more and more people want nothing to do with anything these days that doesn't involve their smartphone, or that does requires thinking or work

Re: The Final Days of Sears & Kmart, 2019

another band-aid solution to keep sears alive. it maybe buys only a few more months at most to keep sears alive. Absolutely. I don't see any way that the chain makes it to 2020 in any way close to its current form. I can see Sears.com and Kmart.com becoming online retailers under different ownershi...

Re: Sears Fears: The Final Days of Sears & Kmart, 2019

Honestly I'd like to see fast Eddie end up loosing a lot of money at the end, and somehow SHOS survive separately and expand, selling Kenmore and Craftsman. But that's just childhood nostalgia talking. There's little point now as they've (Eddie) has essentially ruined their reputation. To me Kmart i...

Re: Five Guys

My experience sounds about like the rest of you. Five Guys opened here about 2012 in a former FIrehouse Subs. I went a few times with friends when it first opened, they all liked it, but I didn't really care for the burgers or fries. Too greasy and food just seemed soggy to me and not very tasty for...

Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2018

i expect the liquidators to win the auction. i don't see a judge approving lampert's bid to kick the can further down the road. sears looked like a ghost town during the holidays and they can't delay the inevitable anymore. Sears doesn't offer much for holiday sales other than their tacky sales tha...

Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2018

Well, I see the Kmart I went to last weekend is on the closing list. I suppose that makes sense... I also see Corvallis, OR is on the closing list... did not see that one coming. I wonder if this list has some stores sold to other parties on it. The stores sold to U-Haul are on this list of 80 stor...

Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2018

I didn't realized this would happen so soon, as I thought we would probably hear more early next year. It is sad for the employees but I agree I see no reason for Sears to drag out their end. It's gone on long enough. And this is coming from someone that really likes Sears, not someone with no conne...

Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2018

I don't really see why anyone would shop at Kmart at this point. If they don't have inventory, what's the point in stopping in for something unless you don't have any other choices? It sounds more depressing than anything. I never cared to shop in a dirty, understocked store. Last year when our Kmar...

Re: Taco Bell Ordering Kiosks

Yeah, I actually just noticed these tonight. I didn't use them and I didn't see anyone else using them either. It can be a wait at Taco Bell at times for a cashier, but not always. I have noticed most restaurants have at least two cashier stations (McDonald's might have 3) but it's been a really lon...
