Re: Albertsons/Vons Giving Away Sanitation Products
Randalls knows they have issues and is trying to dig its way out. I guess they got enough complaints bc I got an email today with this subject line: “Oops! Our bad. We’ll make it right.” It said several digital offers had to be removed and it included a coupon for $5 off a $5 purchase.

Re: Albertsons/Vons Giving Away Sanitation Products
Shopped at Randalls in Austin today and when I got home I noticed on the receipt I had been mischarged on 4 different items. The 2 bags of tortilla chips that were supposed to be 99 cents each rang up as $3 each; the pico that was supposed to be free with the purchase of Hatch Chile guacamole rang u...

Re: Albertsons/Vons Giving Away Sanitation Products
Man! That division must’ve WAY overbought. Here in Texas, Randalls isn’t offering anything remotely close to that. The J4U offer this week is a free pizza … lol.

Re: The present and future of Randalls
It’s kind of weird they only announced the one store closing. Usually they announce several at the same time. Maybe they’ve finally cut all the unprofitable stores. But yeah, you’re right. This store is at a major intersection on the “going home” side. Kind of pathetic they couldn’t make it work.

Re: H-E-B to enter DFW market proper with Plano, Frisco stores
I get them going for the lucrative, growing northern suburbs. But from a distribution standpoint, adding a store or 2 to the south or in central Dallas would be more efficient. (And, yes, I know they’re already sending trucks up for Central Market.) They own lots of land citywide and could also acqu...

Re: The present and future of Randalls
I actually thought Randalls was hanging it up based upon recent inactivity, but they have resumed Colorful Lifestyle remodels. The store at 183/Braker in Austin is in the final stages of its makeover. This likely was spawned by the fact H-E-B is in the process of adding 40,000 square feet to its sto...

Kroger still owns the land, according to the Harris County Appraisal District. Building was built in 1963. Currently valued at over $9 million for tax purposes.

Re: The present and future of Randalls
If the Google photos are accurate, the Bellaire store appears to have been upgraded to Colorful Lifestyle. Seems like a waste, if true ... unless they did it in hopes of being able to increase traffic and hang on.

Re: Paper products from Mexico
Here in Texas, H-E-B has been trucking in toilet paper from Mexico. The store by my house has almost an entire aisle stocked with nothing but 4-packs of Vogue toilet paper from Mexico.

Re: Kroger family of stores fuel points extension
Albertsons/Safeway has done this, too. I got a notification on the Randalls app that my March points that would’ve expired at the end of April are now good until May 31.
