Re: Cracker Barrel closes Medford, OR location
Sacramento location is referring customers to Rocklin, which would imply that location is safe. Strange because I am pretty sure the Sacramento location was actually busier than the Rocklin location. Some employee posted on Reddit the Sacramento location closed due to "theft." Not sure wh...

Re: Stores that never were: Sacramento edition
However, it can backfire. Usually if they are next to each other customers will patronize both stores. In Pleasanton, California Walmart had an existing non-supercenter. It then opened up a Neighborhood Market perhaps a mile away and another in nearby San Ramon. The two Neighborhood Markets took cu...

Re: Burlington closing Carson City, NV location
This isn't something I've heard will happen. I expect to see additional anchor spaces empty in the Topsy center... pretty lousy performing stores there for most parties. Outdated Petco and Michaels units with old logo signs, Marshalls did finally remodel the interior recently so maybe they're safe;...

Stores that never were: Sacramento edition
In the Sacramento area, and in studying retail, I've discovered certain trends of where retailers chose to locate at back in the day and here is the list of the stores that I thought could've existed starting in the 90s or 2000s that never did. Were any of these proposed, but then shelved?? How many...

Re: Burlington closing Carson City, NV location
I vaguely remember that whole situation. I think Burlington opened first. I don't expect Burlington to relocate/return to Carson. Really?? They aren't closing the store to relocate. I figured they were probably relocating to the former Bed Bath and Beyond on Topsy because Burlington has been doing ...

Why Have Some Chain Stores Haven't Gotten Makeovers Yet and What Lies Ahead for Them!"
After learning about the closure of a few fast food restaurants that still kept their 80s or 90s facade intact (https://www.google.com/maps/place/McDonald's/@42.107117,-76.0231079,836m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x89daec4146f16919:0xb1fe5c0a79095b95!8m2!3d42.107113!4d-76.020533!16s%2Fg%2F1tcx2j8v?e...

Re: Burlington closing Carson City, NV location
I seem to recall the tear down being part of the garden center and the old auto repair area then some way to make the building flow without those? Wasn't Burlington open before that point? Burlington is in a pathetic state. So much sales floor blocked off. Tired looking store there in Carson like t...

Placerville new stores and restaurants
If you read an article about what new businesses should come to Placerville: https://haydenbusinessblog.blogspot.com/2024/02/what-should-replace-officemax-and-rite.html. Or are weary about the store closures that have taken place or are taking place in the past few months and want something positive...

Re: What's the history behind outdoor and indoor PlayPlaces??
I think outdoor playgrounds at McDonald's restaurants started to appear in the 1970s, and for a time it was rather common to see the McDonaldland themed playgrounds in front of many McDonald's locations. Some time in the 1990s the indoor ones started to become more common, but it seems to be a some...
