Re: Target Lowers Prices on 5,000 Items for the Summer

Target pricing trends cents higher than Wal Mart on food and consumables in many cases. Maybe dimes higher in drug/personal care. But lately I notice more items with a wider price variance. Both of these chains have been price increasing drastically in recent years and the price gap between them and...

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing

Substantial number of closures happening next Sunday. They are largely done in NorCal by next Sunday. There may be a store or two that lingers open past Memorial Day but I haven't figure out which one(s). The end is very near. I tried to buy some fixtures/supplies and was refused at one store, the l...

Re: Carls Jr. Reduce Dine In Hours: Sacramento Area

Cameron Park is the same franchisee as Bidwell (Las Vegas). Cameron Park had a fairly recent very thorough and very well done remodel done to it. I think there are a variety of factors. Lack of traffic. Insurance cost. Cleaning cost. Lack of staffing. You can and should call an outside company out p...

Re: Cracker Barrel Price, Menu, Store Size Changes Coming

Given their history of scandals and dated not so healthful food, I would love them to just disappear. Sounds like a typical chain business; scandals and controversial quality of products. No different than Denny's in the early 90's. Depends on the scandal and if that "scandal" is typical ...

Re: New Temecula Smart & Final

Ralphs has a really weird location far from the freeway and major arterials adjacent to the most rural areas with horse ranches and such. It is a quiet and peaceful, slow area which is why I like it. I am still puzzled by statements that it is a busy store. I suspect that it is a 50/50 split store....

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing

The format 99 Cents Only tends to run is quite a bit bigger than Dollar Tree, I remember one store in Houston had Dollar Tree replace one but didn't use all the space. I'm not sure if "returning to grocery store space" is a good idea; most of them seemed to be outdated, small spaces in wo...

Re: Albertsons continues to disappear from WA

Late reply to this - only one photo on Google Maps that has the current decor. I forget what our current nickname is for it, but it's a slight modification of the installed "Florida" decor. This is also what the Albertsons > Safeway at Rock Creek area of the Hillsboro, Ore. area received ...

Re: Carls Jr. Reduce Dine In Hours: Sacramento Area

Those two Folsom locations are two different franchisees; the Iron Point Road location is a former corporate location. The Bidwell location is run by the Las Vegas franchisee. Auburn was a different franchisee than anything around Sacramento; they only had those Auburn locations. Then they were sold...

Re: Alternative Retail

This bin operator called Falling Prices in NorCal who seems to deal almost exclusively with Target runs a side format called BID RL where the "better" items go. You bid on items and go pick them up. Items change weekly. I don't see much activity there. When they opened they had a mix of Ta...
