Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

Orange used to be a 24 hour store and a busy store. What happened? This company seems to like to kill itself. Still cannot believe the shelf conditions of out of stocks in their stores right now. Just cannot believe it. At this point- send the managers to a competitor Wal Mart or Target to buy item...

Re: What's Office Depot's future

It is important to note there has been significant store closure/abandoned new store site activity by Office Depot in the Reno Area: 1. Office Max- closure (pre merger) Northtowne Lane Reno 2. Office Max- closure (pre merger) Disc Drive Sparks 3. Office Depot- closure (pre merger) South Lake Tahoe, ...

Re: Advance Auto already closing CA stores?

IF Advance is serious they now have opportunities to get hundreds of additional stores in CA quickly. These 99 Only closures present a lot of potential great real estate for them. They don't need the entire space but they could use part of the space. Rite Aid closures to a lesser extent but that may...

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing

Yeah I got the impression Christmas was for the upcoming year. It all looked new and honestly nicer than anything else at the liquidation. The Easter stuff hadn't even made it off the shelves by the time sale was announced, so some of that was still around. I think they had a decent Texas store bas...

Re: Store Evacuations

Dollar General has a PA system in the stores that is accessible by remote security. They can make pages over the PA but nobody in the store can. They just yell. The remote security that monitors certain stores makes announcements that it is monitoring. They aren't recordings, they are real people an...

Re: Walmart to close Health Care Clinics

Walgreens and CVS closed down many of their clinics first. The reason is awful reimbursement rates from low income health plans such as Medicaid and Medi-Cal. An eye doctor normally charges $175 for a exam. Medi-Cal pays $47. This patient uses up an hour and a half of time in the office with paperw...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: California Impact

I question the source but it makes a lot of sense as to why the store was remodeled but sat for months before officially changing the brand as they would have had to restart the signage permitting process to use the Vons sign instead of Albertsons (and permits take forever in Long Beach). https://l...

I would then keep the Vons banner for the central coast and Kern county stores.
I wouldn't convert anything to the Vons banner anywhere unless it was a complete trash dump of a store. I'd use Ralphs there and just fix Ralphs. I'd convert the very best stores to Pavilions.

Re: Downtown Scottsdale Fry's to become a Whole Foods

The last time I was in the store (2017 or 2018) the decor looked nice, but like a lot of Fry's stores it felt old and worn out. Whole Foods will do well there. The closest one is ~8 miles away at 20th and Camelback and the next one is up at Mayo Blvd and Scottsdale Rd. (~15 miles away). There's als...
