Re: New Albertsons Interior Southern California
Right, most of East Norriton's decor is left over from ShopRite, but I imagine since the store is being renovated now, it'll be changed. Yep...I happened to pop in here a few days after I made my post a few back and it has indeed had a more thorough remodel. Unfortunately it is still the 'Quality B...

Re: Self Check Outs
Not seeing item limits in NorCal much on these self checkouts. I've seen one Wal Mart with a 20 item limit but they already removed all of their horrible store made signs they had posted about it... there is another Wal Mart who put signs up that said 15 items or less on all of the self checkouts an...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact
Meanwhile one could make the argument that Kroger's continued growth of large marketplace stores is really a invasion of Target and Walmart's segments. That does add complexity because the feds don't view things that way. So the feds just see conventional supermarket industry players and share, the...

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing
According to ads on Facebook, Sunday is the final day for all stores. I haven't inquired directly about fixtures, but I have noticed they're not selling much. Free-standing items seem to be sold while shelving and perimeters are being left alone. Maybe they had a bid for the entire lot of shelving?...

Re: Target Lowers Prices on 5,000 Items for the Summer
Wal Mart has some wide swings on pricing lately. Their prices in store on a lot of items don't feel low to me. Similar to Home Depot/Lowes/office chains/etc. type of thing. I was buying a few items in their home improvement area and I wanted to see reviews of the products so I pulled them up on the ...

Re: Official: Red Lobster files Chapter 11
Perhaps some opportunities for independent restaurants to back fill these spaces. But I am thinking at this point a lot of these spaces may not be in the best locations or be the best condition based on the age of many of the units.

Re: Pocatello, Ida. Pine Ridge "Mall" bought by Simon
I was thinking there is no way the large Simon Mall group would possibly touch that mall... that mall was nice when the anchors were filled but the reality is its size - it was just flat out overbuilt for the area.

Re: New Albertsons Interior Southern California
I was in the area and decided to go check it out. I would rate it 8 out of 10 seeing it in real life. The store is a near clone layout wise of newer Albertsons, the closest being the San Marcos location. Original two tone tinted concrete floors poorly maintained and not improved, many patches with ...

Re: Target Lowers Prices on 5,000 Items for the Summer
Target pricing trends cents higher than Wal Mart on food and consumables in many cases. Maybe dimes higher in drug/personal care. But lately I notice more items with a wider price variance. Both of these chains have been price increasing drastically in recent years and the price gap between them and...

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing
Substantial number of closures happening next Sunday. They are largely done in NorCal by next Sunday. There may be a store or two that lingers open past Memorial Day but I haven't figure out which one(s). The end is very near. I tried to buy some fixtures/supplies and was refused at one store, the l...
