Re: Wawa CEO: There is no "Gentlemen's agreement" with Sheetz

How would you enforce that though? Order Sheetz to immediately build and open locations in Wawa territory and vice versa? Probably not so much enforcement by requiring them to build, more likely that if it was provable that there would be fines or similar to punish them for keeping competition from...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

For some reason the GNC.com website is now selling a bunch of Rite Aid brand vitamins. This may not seem unusual since GNC has had a contract to supply Rite Aid brand vitamins for decades now. But this is very recent the GNC.com sells Rite Aid vitamins. Also most/all of these are "out of stock&...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact

Dollar Tree and Family Dollar also charge some kind of fee for cash back. I'm not sure how it works at Dollar General or if they even offer cash back. I agree however the .75 cash back fee for a simple $20 etc. of cash back at these Kroger banners is unacceptable. I have been surprised no other gro...

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing

I think y'all are missing the point here....this is nothing more/less than retail and restaurant has always done to fill their management pipeline...in the 50s (at least) onward all the chains (both department, Sears/Penney and dime store) had pipeline programs....they have just migrated toward Tar...

Re: Walmart introduces new private label brand

Sam Walton didn't curate a damned thing at Sam's Club. He literally stole the entire concept from Sol Price and was proud of it. He met with Sol Price and picked his brain about his Price Club membership warehouses then studied the stores out West and made his own version starting in the South. Thi...

Re: Walmart to close Health Care Clinics

Pharmacies can be very profitable, but it requires pharmacies to say "no." If insurances don't cover a certain medication, you have say make a tough decision. Why order a medication and give it away at a loss? CVS and Walgreens will do this. Sorry, we don't have Ozempic in stock. Of cours...

Re: Wienerschnitzel Debuts Mac Burger & Mac Dog

They have a daily special; the Chicago Dog at 2.99 on some day, I forget which, maybe Tuesday, is pretty good in my opinion. Not the best, but for that price I think it is a pretty good deal. I think there is an "upcharge" of 1.29 to get it as all beef hot dog. The fries are great. There i...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: California Impact

100% agree with both of you on that Liberty store. Every time I have visited there it has been busy. The flow of customers is deceiving and does not clearly show how busy it really is. It depends on which side you are in. If it looks slow where you are you go to the other side and it is busy and vi...

CA Senate Bill 478- "Junk fees" bill

Finally something comes out of CA that is aimed to help consumers. While this new law won't save consumers any money as businesses will just build these fees into the prices they advertise right from the start, it forces pricing transparency which I think is very important. "Starting July 1, Se...

Re: Kroger "Boost Member Price"

What a surprise. They keep believing that Amazon and their paid Prime membership is going to put them out of business (with inaccurate comparisons based on total revenue despite the fact that Amazon's food revenue is probably only 5% or less). They see Costco and Sam's taking a larger and larger sh...
