Re: Sizzler Sparks, NV Out of Business
I finally went to the Montebello location which reopened earlier this year. It was fully remodeled and is nice looking. They have had some changes compared to the past: First off, self-service drinks. I think they did this to keep servers away from guests. They only really serve your food now and ta...

Re: El Pollo Loco
My local store has the pozole and hot chocolate on the menu, but no tamales. I have been very disappointed with the chain recenty. The portions have been small and the chicken has been dry and overcooked. I have been going to other local chains (like Juan Pollo) and ditching EPL. My store also has b...

Re: Cocos and carrows
Cocos recently closed the Montebello location. It was busy during the day but the evenings were dead. Wonder what could take its place. In neighboring Monterey Park, the second to last Carrows closed its doors. This was originally a VanDeKamps bakery restaurant. I am thinking that Carrows is winding...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
Temple City the last time I went about 5 months ago was a busy location still. I know the property was sold last year so possible that the new owners aren't extending their lease. I'm still shocked Alhambra is open at this point. Its a horrible store with no stock or staff.

Re: Forever 21 Opening 14 Stores
Yet they seem to still be hurting. Most multi-level stores around here are now one level. Most recently the 2-level store in part of the former Robinsons-May in Arcadia became one level on the upper level. Montebello, a former 2-level Mervyns is now one level on the 1st floor. Some of their 3-level ...

Re: Kroger to merge with Albertsons?
My area has the following markets within a 5 mile radius:
1 Albertsons
1 Vons
1 Food4Less
1 Superior
2 Ralphs
If this was to go through, all but 1 market would be owned by Kroger.

Posting is up for temp cashiers at the Sears in Burbank. Im wondering if theyre getting out early. The mall is healthy and that Sears store is large (3 stories) with the mall entrances on Level 2 and 3 (level 1 is blocked from the mall due to a now-closing Bed Bath And Beyond in the mall area).

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
I think we would need to see the store in Tacoma to understand if they are just doing a pharmacy remodel or if there is more going on. If they are consolidating stores they may need a larger pharmacy. The legacy Payless Stores and Thrifty Stores (so Pay N Save there) had pharmacies that are, by tod...

Re: Portland area Jack In The Box issues
My area Jacks are back to normal, with indoor seating and the two former 24 hour locations are back to 24 hour operations. I havent seen any issues around here. I know many restaurants that were 24 hours are still not. A local mexican restaurant that was 24/7/365 is still operating 8am-10pm and clos...

The majority of people in the store were like me, engaging in the nostalgia and taking picture. But in fairness, I’ve been to the Spectrum Center and Bella Terra malls in recent weeks and while they were absolutely packed (and difficult to find parking), hardly anyone was buying anything. I don’t r...
