Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
At this point, Rite-Aid is using the Sears playbook on how to shut down a chain.

Re: Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions Cutting Store Hours
Albertsons Montebello was 6am-11pm, now it's 5am-11pm. It actually expanded op hours by an hour. Albertsons Vons was 6am-11pm, it didn't change. So both my local stores really didn't cut hours, with one expanding. Both are busy locations close to each other. I think this further validates that they...

Re: Macys Union Square closing
. I may like Dillard's better and they have a decent store count but at the end of the day Dillard's does little marketing and otherwise does little to draw people into the mall and engage them. I really wish Dillards would expand into Los Angeles. The Palmdale store is always clean, organized and ...

Re: Sears & Kmart 2024: Will someone please put them out of their misery?
Recently saw a Facebook post of the Whittier, Ca store. It's down to one level only (out of 3). While stocked well, I don't see it surviving another year. Wonder how the reopened Burbank is doing?

Re: CVS Closing 25 Minuteclinic locations in LA market, leaving only 11
The CVS near me has had a rotating slew of failures in the back corner of the store next to the pharmacy. When they remodeled the store, it opened as a short lived hearing aid center. It sat vacant for years. Then it became an even shorter lived optometry area that was around less than a year. It's ...

Re: Macy's Buyout? Private ownership bid
I wonder how many of the Macys closures could be used to add a Bloomingdales to certain malls. Mission Viejo could be a possibility for a Macys closure. I know they have two huge stores (one a former Robinsons-May the other a Bullocks). Talks to combine the stores into the huge women's store have be...

Re: Walmart 2023 Closings
The West Covina Store is an odd two level store. It is in a 2-level Mervyns and the upper level of a 2-level WT Grant store (probably added an additonal 20-30k sq ft, the lower level of Grants is vacant but most recently was a Pottery Barn outlet). So it's bigger than 80k sq ft. They did a smart thi...
