I only saw self serve cups once, it was in San Francisco.
Some of the McDonalds here in Los Angeles have them. A lot of homeless people try to use them for free beverages and the cashiers can deactivate the fountain remotely when they see someone trying to do that.

I wonder if this person once worked at that WinCo given the fact he found the stairs and crawl space. It just seems like an odd place to escape to.
Either that or he worked for the construction company that built the store.

The question is what Albertsons does with the extra money it has taken on
How much actual debt has Albertson's added for this transaction?

Albertsons/Rite Aid Merger is off: What's next

The RiteAid investors felt like they were getting ripped off in the deal and they probably were.

Consumers weren't going to get much out of it, either.

And now Albertson's has to try and find another way to do their IPO.

Re: Stater Bros. remodels

This is a good thing. All these stores are between 35 to 55 years old and in need of refreshing. I think most of these received their last updates in early 2000's.

Re: 08/14: 21 Kroger FoodsCo locations to stop accepting Visa Credit Cards

Kroger seems to be picking some interesting fights lately. Just a couple weeks ago they were trying to delay payments to farmers and now this. I imagine this is some sort of test at FoodsCo because it is such a small operation within the Kroger family.

Re: 'United Natural Foods to buy Eden Prairie-based Supervalu for $1.26 billion'

Big news. Never heard of this company, they're either biting off more than they can chew or SuperValu is more worthless than I thought. I can't see any good things for the remaining SuperValu chains...Kroger has never seemed willing to bite on Cub Foods, probably owing to the whole distribution iss...

Re: Safeway limiting produce offerings?

I noticed that they reduced their selection about a year ago here in L.A. I'm pretty sure it's related to a shrink reduction program.

Re: Shooting at TJ's in Silverlake

In some countries a metal detector is kind of standard to enter a mall, etc. I am afraid that may be where this is headed. probably, although that would not have made a difference in this case. The gunman was being chased by the police and crashed about four feet in front of the Trader Joe's entran...
