Re: Supermarkets giving COVID vaccines in your area

Interesting--in Michigan Meijer and Rite Aid led the charge, with Kroger and CVS only just activating...between Rite Aid and Meijer nearly all the state is covered. It probably makes sense that Meijer would be more in the forefront in its home state. But when it comes to vaccine providers, I say th...

Re: Supermarkets giving COVID vaccines in your area

Got my first dose of Moderna on Saturday at a location of a regional drug store chain and I am beyond grateful. You need to make this as convenient for people as possible. I'm grateful as well to get my fist Pfizer dose. I will soon get my second. I agree about making the shots as convenient as pos...

Re: Supermarkets giving COVID vaccines in your area

If the customer has insurance of course the pharmacy wants to get paid for the vaccine administration. Otherwise the supermarket would be paying a pharmacist to give shots and not get any payment in return. The store wants to break even or make a little profit. If you re-read my initial post, you w...

Supermarkets giving COVID vaccines in your area

In Cincinnati, Kroger is giving them out (by appointment only, as are most if not all places giving COVID vaccines in Ohio). My daughter is getting her second shot of Moderna tomorrow, which is the vaccine all Krogers in the area seem to have. Unlike local health departments, Kroger asks to see insu...

Re: Coronavirus Fears and Empty Supermarkets

The White House Covid 19 coordinator is advising people to not go to the supermarket or pharmacy for 2 weeks. The only way to stop this virus from spreading is for everyone to stay at home. Walmart has been limiting how many people can be on the store. The lines to get in are outrageous. You will c...

Re: Coronavirus Fears and Empty Supermarkets

Senior hour or early in the morning is the best time to find toilet paper. Even at Walmart some senior friends said there were huge packs of toilet paper at senior hour. That was my experience this morning during Kroger's senior hour. Unlike Tuesday of last week, they had some toilet paper, not a l...

Re: Coronavirus Fears and Empty Supermarkets

[/quote] Smiths still has a small ad that has obviously been abbreviated but looking at the ad they will probably have most/all of the stuff in the ad in stock, and Safeway NorCal has a usual large ad with probably numerous items they will not have in stock at least not early in the sale. Smiths ad ...

Re: Coronavirus Fears and Empty Supermarkets

Has anyone checked out the early store hours that a lot of supermarkets and other places (pharmacies, Big Lots, etc.) have reserved--at least in theory--for seniors and other at risk groups? I was at the local Target last Wednesday during that time. I haven't checked lately, but the original policy...

Has anyone checked out the early store hours that a lot of supermarkets and other places (pharmacies, Big Lots, etc.) have reserved--at least in theory--for seniors and other at risk groups? I'm not a senior by a lot of standards but I am by Kroger, which has their opening hour reserved for seniors ...
