Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact
I worked for SuperValu in Wyoming back in the dark days with Sv an LLC splitting the name. That was hell explaining why the stores across the border in Colorado had different owners and ads than we did. And now it’s come full circle again. 👎🏻 I think the intention here is for the combined company t...

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing
Hi folks, I'm a long-time listener and a first-time caller. GOB Sales in Texas have essentially matched out-of-state operations. Our stores are now advertising that they're in their final seven days, and I've been referred to next Monday for fixture sales. Still, no WARN notice has been posted, but...

Re: Cracker Barrel closes Medford, OR location
They just never ran the same way as they run elsewhere. Their unit in the South part of Las Vegas runs like a machine; that is an incredible operation with excellent employees. The OR and Sacramento area operations are/were just... slow... sad... and so overpriced for what they were selling. Based ...

Re: Bojangles coming to Los Angeles
We will see how many actually open. This chain has become a joke. The one in IL doesn't even sell bone in chicken only has chicken tenders. Their new menu does not include bone-in chicken. It's tenders only. A location opened near me in a Love's that operates the same way. Spoiler alert - it's just...

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing
I've never heard of a total liquidation having the company "picking up" an entire backroom worth of product. These backrooms are a huge mess. There are partially opened boxes, seasonal stuff that never got put out, etc. . My guess is that either Pic N Save or Ollie's is about to have a &q...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact
Remember, with the exception of Northern California, there's barely any new territory that Kroger will gain with Albertsons anyway. (You're kidding yourself if you think they want Austin or Baton Rouge). Austin and Baton Rouge are Randalls in all but name. They are both former Kroger territories. I...

Re: Sears & Kmart 2024: Will someone please put them out of their misery?
I think the fundamental issue is Toshiba hardware is expensive, and it doesn't seem to be built to the quality of the old indestructible IBM equipment. This sends the retailers out looking for a better value on the hardware and they usually find a cheaper software partner at the same time. By tryin...

Re: Kroger shuttering distribution spoke in Miami
There is another aspect we've overlooked here. Austin *and* San Antonio once had Kroger locations throughout. So they were trying to reclaim what they once had lost there. Spoiler alert - HEB isn't one to be messed with in their home territory. Florida has never fully had a true Kroger store, so the...

Most of the ones you still see running are of the IBM/Toshiba 4800 and 4900 series. The 4690 is a much older system.
