Re: Kohl's Earnings Surprise Crash and Burn
They need to make the coupons work on every damn thing in the store without exception or excuses. Yes! I'm in need of new sneakers and I know a few years ago, coupons would apply to pretty much every brand except for maybe Nike. Now, the coupons only seem to work on the Kohl's house brands (which a...

At this point, I don't think they will make it until Christmas.ClownLoach wrote: ↑May 29th, 2024, 11:06 am At this point I would assume they're not going to fully recover at the store level until Christmas.

Re: ARTICLE: Giant bans customers from carrying large bags in DC stores amid mass shoplifting
McDonalds has some franchisees who have had policies prohibiting these types of objects inside their restaurants for years. It isn't unusual to see piles of this stuff on the front sidewalk in certain locations with these policies. What are people stealing from McDonalds? Ketchup packets?

Re: Law Passed To Ban Plastic Reusable Bags
A new law to ban reusable plastic shopping bags has passed the legislature. Now what will people use? https://fox5sandiego.com/sustainable-san-diego/california-lawmakers-pass-bills-to-ban-plastic-reusable-shopping-bags/ It sounds like it only goes after the thick plastic bags....so I would assume s...

Re: Five Below - Self Checkout Not Allowed
This at Five Below is not quite as bad as Dollar General who completely killed the self checkout software entirely and deactivated the lanes, but close. Off topic, but was DG supposed to get rid of self checkout everywhere? I popped into one back on May 5th and it was still open and people were usi...

Re: New Albertsons Interior Southern California
Right, most of East Norriton's decor is left over from ShopRite, but I imagine since the store is being renovated now, it'll be changed. Yep...I happened to pop in here a few days after I made my post a few back and it has indeed had a more thorough remodel. Unfortunately it is still the 'Quality B...

Re: New Albertsons Interior Southern California
I guess it doesn't make any sense to dump a bunch of money into an immediate remodel if the facility you are moving into is serviceable. All they would have to do is cover up ShopRite logos if there were any around and go from there. Isn't there a Weis somewhere in this general area that was a Gena...

Re: New Albertsons Interior Southern California
Oddly, the new ACME in East Norriton doesn't have that decor. It's been a minute since I've been in that location (I visited a few days after it opened), but the store pretty much reused all the left-behind ShopRite decor except for a few touches here and there. I think they are waiting to see how ...

Re: Wawa CEO: There is no "Gentlemen's agreement" with Sheetz
I heard rumors that Wegmans stayed out of the Philly area for years due to a 'gentleman's agreement' with Genuardi's (pre-Safeway ofc). Once Safeway took over, Wegmans did seem to swoop in, so maybe there was some truth to that.BatteryMill wrote: ↑May 1st, 2024, 4:28 pm
I do wonder if gentlemen's agreements even exist in retail.

Re: Walmart to close Health Care Clinics
Pure speculation here but Walmart has been very slow last couple of months. In fact I find myself buying very little there right now with their sky high food prices that are in desperate need of a rollback. I've never seen so many piles of merchandise next to price scanners before... So many people...
