Re: JoAnn-"restructuring"
Yep, I've seen a handful of people in my social media feeds today reacting to the news by mentioning how they are going to miss JoAnn or "at least Michaels and Hobby Lobby will still be around." Let's face it though, how many companies, especially retail companies, survive Chapter 11 long...

Re: Target Paid Membership Program?
Reno Costco has tried to expand but hasn't had much luck. There used to be an Office Club/then Office Depot next to it and they tried to get that for years to expand but couldn't; eventually it went out of business but for whatever reason they couldn't get it. Out of curiosity, I pulled this up on ...

Re: Target Rolls 10 item "Express Self Checkout" Nationwide
I really hope Costco sees what Target and Walmart are doing and finally put some restrictions on ours. (I was stuck watching self checkouts today for a couple hours and it is always an absolute nightmare. I had one big group with an over-packed cart and told me they were doing three different transa...

Re: Stop & Shop closures
All kinds of moves happening around with Ahold, I'd thought I throw this out there as well...Giant (PA) is ending its Giant Direct delivery service in the Camp Hill, PA area with delivery now being outsourced to Instacart. Note that the Camp HIll store, which it appears the operations were based out...

Re: ALDI to acquire Winn-Dixie
I have concerns about them carrying more name brand items and also here a few years ago they started allowing credit cards as payments, whereas in the past you could only use a debit card. I know that cost has to be passed along to customers; I would have rather had them stay debit-only to keep the...

Re: ALDI to acquire Winn-Dixie
What goes in the Midwest (or Germany ) often doesn’t do well in the South, especially not having access to certain brands/foods that Aldi won’t stock (No Duke’s mayo? No Blue Bell ice cream?) I don't know about other areas, but at least here in the Northeast, I see a few regional items stocked, so ...

Re: ALDI to acquire Winn-Dixie
Ugh that name *cringe* I guess they had to compete with Target's silly 'Good and Gather' or ShopRite's 'Bowl and Basket'.storewanderer wrote: ↑March 9th, 2024, 12:07 am
It is discontinued. You will see a new brand in the coming weeks. The new brand is called "Know and Love."

Re: ALDI to acquire Winn-Dixie
I heard the SE Grocers private label has been discontinued but it is being replaced with some other label, not Aldi brands. So maybe they'll be around for a while longer. Just looking at a Winn Dixie circular for this week online, it is full of 'SE Grocers' items, including a whole page of non-food...

Re: Stop & Shop closures
It looks like a significant amount of the meat is case ready? I'm not sure about Stop & Shop, but Giant PA ditched in-store butchers several years ago...everything except a few items like ground beef are case ready (and Ahold did have their own meat processing/packaging plants but as I think wa...
