Re: Walgreens Close To Buying Rite Aid
I tried to abstain from this hot-button issue,but... Being a 17-year RAD veteran who could be adversely impacted this long rumored yet finally announced merger,I rightfully find this worrisome:Outside of rare loan shifts,I've worked exclusively at a suburban NE Sac(Citrus Heights)location(originally...

Save Mart self-checkouts
Last week I managed to check out the Carmichael Save Mart on Manzanita(my second closest supermarket behind the Safeway on Dewey),a 1998-ish Lucky/Sav-On that replaced 1963-era Lucky in the same Crestview Center(now subdivided between a Big 5 and a long-defunct Oriental Buffet).Anyway, despite it bei...

Re: Rite Aid Converts Buffalo Stores To Wellness Format
That one 24-hour Rite Aid in Sacro is on Alhambra in midtown(across the Cap City Freeway from Sutter General Hospital which is operated by the same Sutter Health that runs Sutter Express Care clinics inside RA locations in Greenhaven, north Natomas and on Foothills Boulevard in Roseville). While only ...

Re: Albertsons is now a "market"?
With Albertsons ownership recently (re-)consolidated,it would be interesting to see if the 'Market' branding is applied to the ex-SVU Albertsons units...

Re: Albertsons Officially Reunited!
And what has Albertsons done under SuperValu? Remodels that aren't as good as other stores. Prices that are horrible (seriously, you SHOULD be able to save money shopping at Albertsons compared to Whole Foods). Lots of store closings. Negative changes to branding of generics (replacing Albertsons' ...

Re: Circle K branding removed (hastily?) from 76 stations
The sites in question are owned and operated by http://www.pcandf.com . These used to be corporate owned stations by Conoco. These were the stations retained by Conoco when they sold Circle K to Couche Tard. I was in a few of them in Northern California just over a week ago. A hasty separation is a...

Re: Rite Aid Marks First Profit Since 2008
Apparently, that first quarterly profit was no fluke:they just recorded a second consecutive profitable quarter.I wonder how long it's been since they've recorded a string of profitable quarters...

Re: PayLess/Rite Aid diagonal aisle stores
Toward the end, PayLess Drug opened several new stores which were sometimes called "45 degree" stores that had a diagonal aisle layout, and had the pharmacy at the front. Around the time that Rite Aid took over, the first stores Rite Aid built also had this aisle layout. I am curious if a...

Re: New Skippers location
They had one in Reno and one in Sparks, NV in the late 80's or early 90's. I think I've seen their buildings in California. Something along Gray Ave. in Yuba City comes to mind immediately. Fast seafood seems to be tough out west. It isn't easy to find a freestanding Long John Silvers in Nevada or ...
