OK - They just looked bigger to me (and the photo is not real clear to be able to read the sizes) - I know they do make a larger size as well.storewanderer wrote:The Kraft BBQ Sauce in the photo is the same 18 ounce size as the Springfield and Special Value versions.

Re: Haggen begins conversion of former Safeway/Albertsons stores
I still think the issue is they don't have a warehouse and Unified just doesn't have strong programs on center store. Most of the customer complaints are regarding center store, though some are DSD items not Unified items so those price issues fall on Haggen. ... Haggen needs a better supplier. The...

Re: Haggen begins conversion of former Safeway/Albertsons stores
I decided to get some photos of the Scottsdale (Via Linda) Haggen just to illustrate some of what I was describing before (about empty space and Haggen's poor execution). First, here's the (fairly tacky) soda (in a Haggen logo) set up in the right rear corner of the store (near the bakery area). He...

Re: 76 reverting to orange?
Meanwhile as they market fast pumps (meaningless due to the reasons already mentioned here), the 76/66/Conoco sites turned on the "zip code prompt" last November in locations where it makes zero sense to have the prompt turned on. They basically established a blanket policy that in center...

Re: Albertsons buys 1/3 of A&P stores
Also announced are a small group going to Key Foods (a fairly local, but older, company in the greater NYC area). That leaves about 150 stores open for sale, and there is suspicion that some of the other companies (Shoprite, Food Town, perhaps even Price Chopper, Hannaford, Weis) would be willing to...

Re: A&P May File Bankruptcy... Again!
Also likely that many opening & reading a post about A&P are in their areas (Eastern US) and would not know much (if anything) about Fresh & Easy. Now, the question is can Albertsons/Safeway corporate get the name/logos from A&P? After all after their recent merger they are the one c...

Re: A&P To sell half it stores
Acme was also mentioned as a possible buyer, which would make some sense, given: - Those now running it seem to be willing to expand rather than just close stores - They also own Shaw's in New England, so some of the A&P territory is kind of a "link" between the existing Acme areas and...

Kroger chains also do $4/$10 generics... https://www.kroger.com/topic/save-on-generic-prescriptions As do a couple chains in this area - Hannaford has the Healthy Saver Plus plan (which does charge a $7 fee annually, or at least is supposed to) and Price Chopper does as well, including some diabete...

Re: Friendly's Ice Cream at Albertsons a response to Haggen?
On the other hand - most of the bigger ice cream brands don't have restaurants either, so it could be introduced just as a new brand in the ice cream case (and if only one chain chose to carry it, could be good for them as people who try it and like it would have to go there to get more).

Re: Integration of Albertsons and Safeway
Yesterday I was at Roxbury Safeway in Seattle and saw my first Albertsons related brand inside the store. I was in the deli and saw that they were now selling Dietz and Watson deli products. I looked up Dietz and Watson and know that it is not owned by Albertsons or Supervalu, at least it does not ...
