Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
Are any of those stores that look so bad ones that were on the potential closings list but then they worked out with the landlord to keep them? Thinking that the one in this area that has more of this issue (though it did have quite a bit of stuff in the seasonal section, so "new" stuff wa...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact
Reuters says C&S is buying 166 more stores, along with the Haggen banner, and the Signature and O Organics brands: https://www.reuters.com/markets/deals/kroger-albertsons-amend-asset-sale-agreement-with-cs-wholesale-2024-04-22/ Actually, in an article I saw it said that C&S would have ACCES...

Re: Aldi lists job openings at multiple warehouses and nearly 30 stores in Northern California
Also no self checkout. I guess if you only have one employee up front that can't work. They have added self-checkout to many of their stores (especially new ones) in this area, and it works fine no matter how many employees are working on regular registers. The only issue is that they made them all...

Re: Never built, but proposed
There are other oddities as well. Ever seen a Target that has a miniature food department? I'll bet you'll find it's in the same center as a Albertsons (or former Albertsons). Albertsons used to enforce lease restrictions where no other retailer in the center could sell more than a certain amount o...

Re: Cracker Barrel closes Medford, OR location
I suspect that a lot of Cracker Barrels do most of their business during breakfast time (especially on weekends), at least in the South. I know places like Waffle House, IHOP and some of the local dinner chains (like Jake's Dinner and Carolina's Dinner here in Greensboro) tend to have waits for tab...

Re: Arby's Free Sandwich Each Week In April
What is the "Gyro Meat?" Arby's is surprisingly open about their ingredients (many chains seem to have pulled back from this): Gyro Meat: Beef, Water, Bread Crumbs (bleached wheat flour, dextrose, salt, yeast), Lamb, Soy Protein Concentrate, Cereal Binder (corn, wheat, rye, oat and rice f...

CVS not doing well? Their earnings per share were over $6 last year and they've beat Wall Street 4 quarters in a row. Their earnings per share are 300% higher than freaking WALMART. They're forecasting earnings UP another TWO DOLLARS A SHARE this year. Walmart only makes two dollars a share period!...

Re: 99 cents only calls it quits
Also they announced this late this afternoon and liquidation sales start tomorrow morning...? Maybe this is the "missing link" for those sign people that looked like they were connected to Rite Aid? Thus, they had an idea it might very well happen and that is why they wanted people ready ...

Re: Crucial times for Shoppers
They definitely couldn't run in and announce "party's over", but would have to buy back the license or the company entirely. (Buying back the company entirely would come with a lone Jerry's Foods in Sanibel, Florida and some Do It Best hardware stores). Or possibly go the other way and se...
