Re: Extra Mile Remodeling

Extra Mile is now a joint venture by Jackson's and Chevron. There are some good aspects that Jackson's brought to Extra Mile, but still Chevron seems to be dominant. Being bold and controversial might draw attention to Extra Mile, but ultimately customers are going to be turned off by this. The firs...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

Or, in NY the no instance since the prescriptions are done electronically :) Most doctors are sending everything electronically, but apparently paper is still a thing. That's why I said in NY, since they made it required to have them done electronically from all doctors. Likely since it is easier t...

Re: Self Check Outs

I see lots boxes on the salesfloor at Walmart that say RFID. Even towels and other strange items all have RFID. If they could just put RFID tags onto produce, then RFID checkout could work out.

Re: NorCal Safeway- Some Bay Area Stores removing self checkout

The Save Mart and Lucky self Checkouts are absolutely the worst I have seen. They have weight sensors that always cause problems. The attendant has to come over and fix it. Often, there is no attendant and the cashier has to leave the register and walk over to the self Checkouts. It is easier to jus...

Extra Mile Remodeling

The new Extra Mile Convenience Store decor is ugly. There is one in San Ramon, California that was just remodeled. The former Texaco across the street is also an Extra Mile now, but with the better looking old logo. The former Texaco is now Chevron and has cheaper gas since they have a cash discount...

Those must be really big 99 Cent Only stores. My local Burlington stores are huge. One has 2 stories. Is Burlington thinking about opening smaller stores these days?

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing

Dollar Tree opened up inside an abandoned Walgreens in Dublin, California not too long ago. The store still looks like a Walgreens. The floor is a Walgreens floor and they even kept the Walgreens mirrors all around the store near the ceilings. The pharmacy was turned into a break room for employees....

The Fall of Third Street Promenade

Santa Monica's Third Street Promenade was once a vibrant outdoor mall, but now it is a ghost town. There are many possible causes: homeless people, loss of chain stores, etc. They are thinking that perhaps Eatertainment may save it. Who knows. I was in the area in 2019 and the pier and beach were pa...

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing

The very name is false advertising these days. Almost everything is over 99 cents.

Dollar Tree will have to replace those signs with new The 99 Store signs. Eventually they will all convert to Dollar Tree except for the token few stores to keep the trademark alive.
