Re: New Skippers location

Speaking of newer Skippers, there is a Skippers in Spokane that I believe was a old Denny's building. It is on North Division across from Northtown Mall. Here are a couple of links for it: http://skippersspokane.com/post/1948328/seafood-spokane-wa http://skippersspokane.com/ The Division street Skip...

Re: Lacey, WA TOP Foods to close

As for the continued existence of the QFC name, I don't think it will go away, at least in the Puget Sound area. While Fred Meyer is very popular in Seattle as well as Portland, QFC is very strong in Seattle. It has always had the reputation of being a upscale store, while Fred Meyer has been genera...

Re: Kroger testing clothes

I guess it's not that unusual to see furniture in the stores (around here, even QFC stocks a few outdoor furniture items in the stores during the summer) but I guess I'm not familiar with the Kroger Marketplace format. I would assume it's more of a grocery store with expanded non-food selection (ki...

Kroger testing clothes

Many of you know that Kroger owns the Fred Meyer supercenter chain in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. You may also know that Smith's Marketplace is the only Kroger banner other than Fred Meyer to be the closest to Fred Meyer in the merchandise mix that it offers, as they used to be Fred Meyers. Bu...

Metropolitan Market to acquire Magnolia Thriftway

While I have not been in Magnolia Thriftway, I am sure that Metropolitan Market will do well here as this is a very upscale area.

Re: White Center Albertsons sold to Saars!??

Well, the change of the White Center Albertsons to Saars ownership happened yesterday, March 22nd. Saars ended up not closing the store until the remodel was done. They ended up opening it up right away and will be open through the remodel. But this store is called "Super Saver Foods" but ...

Re: White Center Albertsons sold to Saars!??

Here is something interesting about the upcoming sale of this store to Saars. It is NOT going to be called Saars. It is going to be called Super Saver Foods. But it will be operated by Saars. Super Saver was a discount division of Albertsons that catered to the Hispanic Community. So maybe Saars is ...
