I guess Safeway will not have to worry at Factoria. Look like the Walmart will be more of a general merchandise store with a limited selection of food. Here's the link to the article.

Re: White Center Albertsons sold to Saars!??
It was a Albertsons Marina store. The Marina look was hidden in a remodel that took place about 1977. It was also the one of the last stores to feature the "western" lettering that Albertsons had used just before the current logo. But upon remodeling the store to the current grey and blue ...

Re: White Center Albertsons sold to Saars!??
I can't believe that the White Center Albertsons wasn't profitable. My thought is that Supervalu is not building any new stores and that they did not want to make the investment. To me that is a sign that Supervalu is struggling. Too bad for White Center. I think Saars is a bad operator as I said ea...

Re: Walmart Neighborhood Market coming to Seattle Metro Area
In the case of the Factoria store, I wonder how Safeway will do as they were one of the original anchors of that mall?!

Re: White Center Albertsons sold to Saars!??
I live near White Center! I am truly sad for this community. Saars stores are ugly and not at all attractive. Now White Center will not have a true full service supermarket. The WC Albertsons was actually store 100. I wish that they had torn it down and rebuilt!

Re: Top Foods being phased out in favor of Haggen?
This is a interesting turn of events for Haggen Inc. Other than the stores near Portland, Haggen has never operated Haggen bannered stores south of Snohomish County. In the past, the closest Haggen bannered stores were in the Lynnwood area. Those stores were sold to QFC, which was independent at the...

New JCPenney store in Downtown Seattle
Here is a interesting article in the Puget Sound Business Journal. It states that JCPenney is coming back to Downtown Seattle. Currently there are only Macy's and Nordstrom in Downtown Seattle in terms of department stores. http://www.bizjournals.com/seattle/blog/2011/08/jc-penney-opening-new-store-...
