I assume those stores in AZ and CO include the Albertsons/Safeway warehouses and truck fleets-they would just be duplicate facilities for Kroger in those markets.

Safeway is putting money in Phoenix…. Remodeled stores and several new stores in Surprise and one planned in Buckeye. I prefer going to Safeway as the Fry’s stores seem to be getting more shabbier, especially the floors.

Safeway makes its money in Colorado in smaller towns, like in a number of other markets. Towns too small for Walmart to want to enter.

I noticed current Fry’s radio ads include the phrase “You’re never more than 5 miles from a Fry’s”

Fry’s is the dominant retail advertiser in Phoenix- TV, radio, online, outdoor. You can’t go more that 10 minutes without a Fry’s ad popping up somewhere. AlbertSafeway and Bashas’/Food City seem to only use radio and outdoor. A/S seems to be going to weekly ads through the mail. We get several of t...

Ollie’s could be interested in some of the non California 99c locations, especially in Texas (where they have existing locations).
