That's so sad to hear about Sunvalley. It was the mall of my youth. My mother worked at the Macy's there from its opening day in the late '60s. It was the only enclosed regional mall in the area and was a major destination.

El Dorado Hills is east of Sacramento. Definitely not in the Bay Area.It's great that one division is opening four new stores this year, though all of them seem to be a long time coming (and all in the Bay Area--no new markets here): Hercules, San Jose, El Dorado Hills, and San Francisco.

One story here about a local franchisee who bailed, but apparently there are widespread problems. They've had their license to sell franchises revoked in a number of states, and Sen. Feinstein even asked the FTC to investigate them.

The Bloomberg article is about the Woodland Hills Amazon supermarket, which is going into a former Toys'R'Us location. (About which we have another thread.) Is there some report about Amazon going into this former Ralphs?
