Re: New Temecula Smart & Final

It was odd to see the difference between the two Ralphs stores. Murrieta was charging $14.99/lb for the BH turkeys and $17.99 for the BH Roast Beef. The cheese I wanted that they stopped ordering at that store was $12.99. Temecula was $13.99 for the turkey but BH oven gold was on sale there for $9....

They're a little different. Very little food and no cleaning or paper product type items. Over the years more and more of their product is from China but they say it is "Japan Quality." Their stuff looks a lot better than a Dollar Tree and they have a lot more glass based items. They've a...

Re: Amazon Fresh, take 2

I agree- they should make some mix changes and rebrand Fresh to 365 Whole Foods. It will need some pretty serious changes. Again. I'm not sure how many more major remerchandisings these stores can take. Also kill the Just Walk Out and Dash Carts; just end both. Self checkout is enough. The Dash car...

And they definitely spent a ton of labor on fancy stuff when they were going to have company, I remember being in the store when Bob Davila was ther
BILL Davila. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Davila
That's so weird because I know it is BILL but autocorrect changed it to Bob.

Re: New Temecula Smart & Final

I trust you over the deli people. Long story short Murrieta deli has reduced ordering of many Boars Head meats and cheeses which irritated me greatly since I live just a few minutes from the store. Heck the proximity of the store was one of the reasons I chose the house. Asked why they're missing s...

I visited that HMart in Mira Mesa. 🤢🤢🤮🤮 It confirmed all my biases about markets in this category. 🤷‍♂️ As I've brought up before, I think any biases you might have about Hispanic oriented markets would be destroyed by that Costa Mesa Northgate. Even now it is still incredibly busy, and a heck of a...

Re: Aldi lists job openings at multiple warehouses and nearly 30 stores in Northern California

Anyone can crudely draw a square and put “Aldi” inside of it, but I did find it interesting that Aldi is specifically mentioned on the site plan for this project in South Sacramento / Elk Grove. https://www.bizjournals.com/sacramento/news/2024/05/13/windflower-farms-sustainable-housing-retail.html ...

Re: Daiso to open in Vancouver, WA

Sounds like they sell the same crap as Five Below or the Dollar stores…only in an Asian style. They're a little different. Very little food and no cleaning or paper product type items. Over the years more and more of their product is from China but they say it is "Japan Quality." Their st...

Re: Pavilions - Pasadena, CA

Somehow I missed that change. What year was that? The Safeway there was a good size (I shopped there quite often). Well run store for sure and extremely busy. It is curious that they changed it to Pavilions Place, since it is was not a small store. :? If I recall correctly, Pavilions started out at...
