Re: Sears Fears: The Final Days of Sears & Kmart, 2019
He knew it wasn't salvageable. Transform, LLC was just a way of making it look like they were going to turn things around. I think everyone knew that wasn't a possibility. But keeping people thinking that is the best way to make them keep coming to the stores. But who really wants to at this point?...

Re: Fry’s Electronics on Life Support
That store doesn't look healthy. Reminds me of the low stock conditions at Sears/Kmart these days.

Re: Alderwood Mall (Lynnwood WA) thriving while others flounder
Repurposed but largely in use: Mall 205 *light rail Beaverton Mall/Cedar Hills Crossing *bus, relatively near light rail Eastport Village (demolished, rebuilt into successful big box/strip center) *bus, relatively near light rail Not sure Mall 205 would be considered repurposed as the mall's interi...

Things continue to look bad for Sears: https://www-nbcnews-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1095336?fbclid=IwAR1EBWGTSX_9FZOCIZxamjhbgKAfjUWrRFROt0ni4N2Z8Rwdoo_CvcVwhII In all honesty, I hope that this year Lampert realizes that this year, it's time to finally let the stores d...

Re: Kroger "big announcement coming" on branding
A couple thoughts since this campaign has been out for a few weeks: As for the Kroger logo, I think it is a good "evolutionary" update which doesn't make signage on existing stores look old overnight. Kroger can take its time with sign replacements. As for Fred Meyer, the slogan doesn't ma...

Re: Glass enclosed pharmacies
I have always found it interesting how many chain stores are not consistent with the placement of pharmacies in their stores. When Walmart built a new store where I live, they placed the pharmacy in a "box" between the clothing and grocery area near the back of the store. This one also has...

Re: Domino's Opened Full Sized Dining Room
Domino's seems to have improved their product. There was a time I would not even think about ordering their pizza. I do occasionally order them as they seem to have a decent affordable pizza. Pizza Hut on the other hand is by far the most "manufactured" tasting pizza to me. I rarely go the...

Re: Domino's Opened Full Sized Dining Room
There is a new-build Domino's near me that has seating. It is more like a typical fast food restaurant than a true sit-down style restaurant though.

Re: Lack of reliability of "in store pick up" services
There are a few local chains that are starting to advertise online ordering/pick-up in store. Unlike the national chains, the local ones are VERY inconsistent. I have been to one where the order was still on the printer, untouched, when I arrived at the store an hour later(when it was promised in 30...

Re: Walmart Supercenter Branding
A few months back I made a purchase at a conventional Walmart in Vancouver, and it showed up as "WM SUPERCENTER" on my statement.
