Re: Too many Dollar stores?

To me, this does sound a bit excessive, but some good points were raised by people in the comments about how it shouldn't be the City Councilman's concern. Many people's only option is to shop at these stores and they do provide jobs in the area. What I find amazing is how two dollar stores can comf...

Re: Target Closing Colorado Springs Store

Just a little year under Target's announcement of this store closing, Garden Ridge announced that they're opening up a store here. Considering how many vacant commercial properties there are in the part of town where this store is located, I think this is a pretty good turnover time for this propert...

Re: Safeway adopts "poison pill" measure

I wondered how they do in rural Colorado. I am aware they once had top share in Colorado Springs by far (and may still be top, but no longer by far) and have closed a store or two there in recent years. Then out in Grand Junction last I checked Kroger had about 30% share, Wal Mart had about 40% sha...

Re: Albertsons TV ads

That's definitely one of Albertson's more memorable recent ads in my opinion, but I think that there would be a better way for them to express how they're going back to the things that made them grade in the 70's and 80's than by using a subtle jingle that most people won't even notice, if that's wh...

Re: Goodbye jcp..hello JCPenney (again)?

I just checked their website and it looks like they're using the old "JCPenny" logo on there again.

Compared to the drug store section, the rest of the store looks pretty dark.

Re: Walmart remodeling schedule

I have found customer service to be about the same, or worse, than the local Walmarts. Target runs on a skeleton crew most of the time, and long checkout lines are common when there are only two cashiers most of the time. I agree that the customer service at Target can sometimes be pretty bad, espe...

Re: Restaurants using Coca-Cola "Freestyle" machines

Although some of the buzz is wearing off now that these machines are becoming more widespread, they still help draw more traffic to the businesses that have them. I also agree that some of the "normal" sodas have kind of a weird taste to them, but it's usually very subtle. So far around he...

Re: Walmart remodeling schedule

They most likely prioritize the remodels by the store's sales volume, what type of area it's in, etc. Other than that, I have no guesses as to how Walmart schedules these remodels.
