Re: Walgreens Store Remodels

None in Northern Nevada, and some stores in Northern Nevada are just a few months old and did not open with this new design. I have heard this new design has resulted in sales losses in the converted stores due to less product mix and fewer impulse buys. Walgreens really needs to make some adjustmen...

Re: O'Reilly-fication of CSK

Rebrandings have taken place in Portland and some portions of Washington outside Seattle. So far, no rebrandings in California.

The co-branded radio and print ads have been running here for quite some time in NV.

CVS Customer Traffic in Converted Longs

How are the CA Stores doing? Their converted stores here in NV are doing noticeably less business than Longs, and some of them were already slow as Longs. However these former Longs CVS Stores are a lot different than the former Sav-On CVS Stores. They are stocked better, cleaner, and in general are...

Re: Grocery chains in your area

The F4L Stores in IL and IN seem to be part of the SoCal F4L Division but supplied by the Kroger Central Division. The stores look and function like the SoCal Stores but the merchandising looks a lot more similar to a Kroger Central Store; they may have more product variety than the typical F4L on t...

Re: Michael Teel returns to Raleys

Their new stores don't look very good; too much brown and too dark. Sizing of certain departments in their new stores is also a bit awkward. I think they may look a little better than Safeway Lifestyle though, which I don't care for at all in terms of decor and color scheme. There are some stores Ra...

Re: FedEx Kinko's/FedEx Office

I was surprised to find the one in downtown Salt Lake City still Open 24 Hours a few weeks ago. It had not been rebranded however somewhere in one of the suburbs I saw a rebranded location in a strip mall. Or.. maybe it was a new location. It was about the size of a UPS Store, if that. Maybe FedEx w...

Michael Teel returns to Raleys

What do we think of this? He left abruptly in 2002 after the failed Las Vegas expansion and all was quiet about him until last year when it came known that he and some investors were trying to displace Corti Brothers in Sacramento. Now he has back to Raleys. I think the grocery environment has gotte...

Re: Save Mart (Stockton) Fire

It sounds like the store had a leased bakery and pharmacy if I read the article right. I've driven by this store and it is really a nasty area but the store looked like quite a throwback. I was never quite courageous enough to go in. Frankly I wasn't even tempted.
