Del Taco Updates Logo
... for the first time in 20 years (yes! 1992 was two decades ago!). While it's not as radical as the 1992 transformation, it's interesting to note that the sun in the new logo is very reminiscent of the pre-1992 logo. The slogan has also changed from "Go Bold or Go Home" to " Bolder ...

The larger signs on the walls also feature a "K" inside the gradient, which is a nice, subtle visual touch as wellAlpha8472 wrote:I do like the red signs. They are stylish and yet easy to install.
The signs aren't a uniform color of red. They are red with a gradual fade to black.

Kmart Mission Valley - With new interior (no brown/orange!)
The Kmart-turned-Sears Essentials-turned-Kmart-again in the Mission Valley area of San Diego re-opened recently. The notable changes that this Kmart opened with: The interior is all-white with red signs. Much like newer Walmart stores. This makes a decor change as simple as replacing the low-cost si...

Re: Ralphs Discontinuing Double Coupons, Changes Rewards Pro
I like Safeway/Vons' approach with the e-coupons. It is so much easer to make a few clicks on a website and the coupons are linked to my Safeway Club card. It doesn't get easier than that!

Re: Sunflower and Sprouts to Merge
I'd expect the prices to go up, but the produce quality will go up markedly as well. Henry's (and now Sprouts) has really good produce. Much better than the chain supermarkets. Worth the increase in price.KingU8ol0Soopers wrote: I'm curious to see if that will change after the merger.

Re: Walmart Neighborhood Market eyes San Diego as well
This could be why Walmart is looking at lower-income neighborhoods where the perception of Walmart being cheaper oversells the [lack of] quality and selection of merchandise. Logan Heights, yes; but they'd never fly in neighborhoods like North Park or Hillcrest.

Re: Walmart Neighborhood Market eyes San Diego as well
I'm wondering if the news story printed that erroneously. If you look at the NM renders from the LA Curbed site, it shows the store as grocery-only as well.
