Re: Target Rolls 10 item "Express Self Checkout" Nationwide
Went to the Fullerton Greatland on a Saturday evening, a lower volume unit in a pretty good area (this is the Malvern location, not Harbor which is literally the regional LP office for good reason). Both banks of self checkout fully open, and they had 5 staffed checkouts. The execution error there ...

As with any new thing, medical treatment, medicine, vaccine, whatever, you do not always know the effect this new thing or change will have, until the change plays out for a while. It may all end up fine and if so that is great I guess... but for now... it is suspect what the potential impact of th...

Re: CVS Closing 25 Minuteclinic locations in LA market, leaving only 11
Was in the 24 hour store CVS in Sparks today, last big former Sav-On in the area. The Minute Clinic was a huge space in the back middle of the store with a large open waiting area and a big "care concierge" counter. This entire area is now vacant and a sign posted just says Minute Clinic a...

Re: Oxnard's only Ralphs closing May 2024
The lack of investment by Kroger on this store implies to me it has been on the edge of closing for quite some time. I can't find anything else about Vons closing. A Walgreens at 481 South Ventura Road in Oxnard closed maybe recently and has a lease through 2033. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/481-...

Re: Target Pricing - San Francisco vs. other areas
I wonder how much of this is attributable to theft, versus other factors making San Francisco a high-cost area of doing business such as real estate, taxes, wages, etc... I'm always hesistant to point price increases at a sole contributory cause unless the company outright states that "we've r...

Target Pricing - San Francisco vs. other areas
It appears Target has determined how to deal with the issues in San Francisco and evidently places like NYC too. They have increased prices compared to many other areas on consumable/high theft drugstore type items. The following list of items: San Francisco 789 Mission (large store just off Union S...

Re: San Francisco Centre Renamed To Emporium Centre
There is a big increase in Asian tourists (especially Chinese) in Los Angeles recently. Perhaps that increase will soon bleed into San Francisco. I am sure if something changes we will find out. https://www.cnn.com/travel/san-francisco-tourism-troubles/index.html Los Angeles is in far better shape ...

Re: Chickfila to END "no antibiotics ever" chicken
Some states like Oregon, mandate cage free eggs. Really stupid law that just drives up prices. But does it really? After California passed its cage free law, prices shot up because the industry wasn't ready (they were focused on fighting the law rather than preparing to follow it). However, over ti...

Re: Trader Joe's opening in northern Idaho
That tense thing is coming from the employees as well and has been the trend since at least 2005. The employees in Reno are great, no complaints there. They are friendly, work efficiently, and there are a lot of them. The customers are having attitude with each other as opposed to projecting their ...
