Re: Signature Select gets its own Instagram account

They need to run price promotions on this brand and actually price it/operate it like a store brand. As in, a brand that costs less than name brands.

I'm sure this Instagram will be forgotten as soon as they have a management change in the private label department, which seems to happen quite often.

Re: Daiso to open in Vancouver, WA

Sounds like they sell the same crap as Five Below or the Dollar stores…only in an Asian style. They're a little different. Very little food and no cleaning or paper product type items. Over the years more and more of their product is from China but they say it is "Japan Quality." Their st...

Re: McDonald's PlayPlace History

Elko was demolished and rebuilt and doesn't have it anymore. Over time the insurance and cleaning costs associated with having this equipment seem to be not worth it for some locations. In Reno area, there are about 4 locations with modern indoor playplace and they do attract families, birthday part...

Re: Daiso to open in Vancouver, WA

They had very aggressive plans to add hundreds of US Stores and they've added few. Their new stores are smaller and their mix seems to be declining. I was in one in a Dallas suburb last summer that had no air conditioning and it was very brutal in there. Overall this retailer seems poorly managed in...

Re: "Schnucks Fresh" stores

THe Columbia EatWell was a long-running Schnucks's for many years and the only super near downtown and the U of M campus. The store probably opened in the 70s and is probably on the small side for them, hence this format. They may have figured that having the flagship state university there, along ...

Re: Jack in the Box Daily Free Item

Here they have good/steady drive through business but dine in is empty, even at lunch, and it doesn't matter which location. Breakfast Jack is cooked fresh every time- excellent product at 2 for $3. Would like to try it with cheddar but can't figure out how to do that in the app. But the 3.49 each a...

Re: New Temecula Smart & Final

I wonder if the gas station in Murrieta makes them any money. When Kroger watches sales for stores they exclude fuel and pharmacy since those areas aren't considered "controllable" by store management in driving sales. So the gas station may help the overall picture in Murrieta. Do any of ...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact

I'll check but I am seeing some outrageous new full prices pretty much everywhere except for service deli and produce at my local Ralphs. Some rapid fire increases like the Simply fresh hash browns going from $2.99 to $4.79. Challenge whipped butter from $3.49 to $4.99 for a small tub. What's inter...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

That answers my question, but I would not be surprised if the inventory management is making the problems even worse. The automatic replenishment systems used by these chains are so dependent on sales history that even if they are back in stock at the warehouse on all items they would likely fail t...
