We may not have a major super C-store chain in California, but there's Eddie World in Yermo (outside Barstow).

The article at this link, although five months old, has a list of all planned Amazon Fresh stores at that time. It includes a number that have yet to open. And it shows the original tenant in each location. The only one that was a new build is the North Hollywood store I mentioned above.

Has Amazon built one of its "Fresh" stores from scratch? It seems that they, like Sprouts, seems to like to repurpose other sites in the 40 - 50K square foot range I'm not sure if this counts , but the North Hollywood Amazon Fresh was built from scratch on the ground floor of an apartment...

This might also explain why the threads about Aldi, Dollar General, Rite-Aid, etc. and their self checkout stations being semi-offline could make sense.

I've never seen an Aldi that had self-checkout stations.

Amazon Fresh just opened in another location in Whittier, so I don't think they're ready for a second one yet.

Shut down on Wednesday. They will now sell the same items through the normal amazon.com site or on Amazon Fresh.

I thought Kmart didn't exist until 1962. Wasn't it part of that group of similar stores (Walmart, Target, Kmart) that all started that year?

Walmart drops the $35 minimum for free shipping for Walmart+ members.

Obviously to compete with Amazon Prime, and makes it a much better deal than before.
