Albertsons to open another new Tom Thumb, this time in Allen

As the title suggests, Albertsons has announced a new Tom Thumb supermarket and fuel station to be located at the Northwest corner of Main Street and Angel Parkway in Allen. Although there are other grocers relatively close (including multiple Kroger stores, multiple Walmarts and an HEB site), these particular neighborhoods in Allen are relatively open from a traditional grocer standpoint, making this site a great grab for Albertsons in an upscale area.

It is good to see the Tom Thumb banner continuing to expand in DFW, especially considering Randalls woes just down the road in Houston. It is interesting to see the banner move into so many new areas, including neighborhoods where the chain may be less known.

A few miles west is a former Albertsons, but another Tom Thumb, yes...I don't know what they intend to do to the remaining Albertsons stores but it looks like they won't open another store under that name.
