HEB buys property (likely for Central Market) in Oak Cliff, Dallas

Post by architect »

Breaking: HEB has just announced that they have purchased property at the northeast corner of Davis Street and Beckley Avenue in Dallas, just across the street from an incoming multifamily residential development. This site is also located near the popular Bishop Arts District, and is overall an area on the rise largely due to an influx of young professionals. Plans for the site have not been announced, but presumably this would either be home to a Central Market or a boutique/urban HEB store considering the size of the site. It will definitely not be your typical big box grocer.

The Central Market at Preston and Royal is a small store - far smaller than the other Central Markets. In fact, it is in an old 1960s vintage former Marina style Safeway - they even preserved the beams of the arched roof which I thought was nice and gives the place a certain charm. So there is precedent for a scaled-down Central Market.
