Sounds like they are just reorganizing the brand and distinguish it from Vons. If bet that within the next year you will see Pavilions expanding into San Diego by converting some Vons and Alberstons stores in high end areas.

Re: Pavilions Simi Valley rebranded as Vons
They should start on the Westside & South Bay in Los Angeles. The Westside has just 5 Pavilions & most are not the greatest stores; one a small former Safeway in Santa Monica, a small former Safeway in Beverly Hills, Culver City, West Hollywood and Marina del Rey (the latter two are complete rebuilds from former Vons and Safeway stores). Marina del Rey for a relatively new store is such a dull and stinky (fish area) store. They could easily rebrand the Vons on Broadway and Lincoln in Santa Monica, Vons in Cheviot Hills, Vons in Pacific Palisades and possibly Vons on National and Sepulveda in WLA (the Ralphs on the other side of the freeway, a former Hughes, is slated to be upgraded to a Ralphs Fresh Fare).Bluelightspecial wrote: ↑February 12th, 2018, 2:26 pm Sounds like they are just reorganizing the brand and distinguish it from Vons. Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach...one or more of those Vons should be Pavilions. These are high income areas. Vons in Torrance (Torrance Blvd) use to be Pavilions a long time ago. It didn't make sense for that store then or now but those other locations should be Pavilions.
