This store at Twin Peaks was an Albertsons to begin with, not a Vons, though. However the plans drawn up do not appear to be for a Vons or Albertsons.

My guess is Amazon.

Look at the initial design for Amazon Woodland Hills:

They look pretty similar to me.

I wasn't aware that Amazon was going to be building any of their "fresh" stores in the San Diego market.

It definitely looks like an Amazon store though.

It seems to me that they wanted to focus on "A" list markets like LA/OC and Chicago.

This is actually a quite good location to run deliveries from. With the layout of the roads, easy to go a lot of different directions from this place. Would expect a fill in on the other side of the highway at some point around Rancho Bernardo as well to service over there- maybe by the 4S Ralphs. That center already has multiple grocers-Ralphs and a Jimbos.
